I never said the yata could be broken DA. I said the yata wasnt 360 like he thinks it is. Its a manga fact it isnt. And you have to put it in front of what ever you chose to block.

He thinks teh mirror is 100% protect from all angles and can become protect susanoo perfectly from every posible angle (including underneath). That is false and i have provin with manga facts that itachi has to make his susanoo put the shield in front of what ever he chooses to defend to.

I agree both are underrated, but at the same time overrated.
Its underrated in the sense that because it doesn't have much 'great' feats people underestimate both and ill come back to that.
Likewise it can be overrated because when it hasn't really shown much weaknesses because it hasn't come across a difficult situation people cling to its hype.

The thing about the sword is that people only focus on the fact that it has to pierce to seal. But they forget that its a sword, meaning it can cut you in two. Not many people in the series that can survive being bisected. So this idea of needing to pierce is itachi doing you a favour and sealing you rather than bisecting you.

Another thing is that the sword is slow. Perhaps its not the quickest, but in the hands of itachi who isn't a direct/straight forward fighter. He can implement his many tricks into coming up with a strategy that will allow him to stab/bisected quicker opponents

That's all sasuke had back then. Doesn't mean it can't do better. The shield is special, and mythological for a reason. Black zetsu is basically madara's uchiha's knowledge and will and he confirms as much.

It wouldn't work against 4tailed naruto, nor would it work on kakazus iron skin technique. The yata mirror technique repels most techniques, not gigantic nine tails tailed beast bombs. Itachi knew all of his abilities and still knew that he would either die a mutual death of suffer defeat by the hands of jiraya. They are strong, but aren't underrated or underestimated.
