Seriously. This has bugged me since day 1, it's only Itachi/Hashirama/Minato/Madara that get the attention around here. When in reality, some of these guys are the blandest, most boring OP characters under the sun. What's the obsession with strong characters and arguments over them? Is it so you can say 'my character is stronger than your characterrrrrrr' like a 10 year old or is it so you can be in cool clubs and feel wanted? It's ALWAYS confused me.
There's more to a character than just strength. Backstory, design, personality, likes, dislikes, the way they interact with others, the way they influence the story, C H A R A C T E R D E V E L O P M E N T. Has Itachi or Minato ever had an ounce of development? No, because they're pretty uninteresting characters. It's the superman discussion. Why should you care about a character who is immortal and could never be harmed? There's no fun in it. Good characters need to have good flaws- having a giant susanoo, teleportation, impossible genjutsu or just being hashirama now apparently actually results in a character being less cool for me because they just solve all their problems with that.
EXAMPLE: OP characters are NOT fun to watch.
Look how pre-MS Sasuke takes out Deidara.

Now remember how Itachi took out Deidara. Sure, it was quick and powerful but was it fun to watch? No. It was boring as hell and when powerhouses like this can just solve any problem with a deus ex machine instant OP jutsu, why should you care? Characters NEED flaws to be real people, to be relatable, likeable characters. And the sad thing is, soon even Naruto & Sasuke are going to fall to this level too and rather than the amazing part 1 VotE fight we got we'll just get 2 massive glowing tanks standing on the spot shooting lasers at each other.
So what's the appeal?
