A sharingan genjutsu, unlike normal gen, is activated simply through eye contact. Specifically eye contact with an an active sharingan, making them quick to activate and hard to distinguish when someone it about to use a genjutsu. Normal genjutsu will normally use hand seals and or some other activation mechanism such as a sound or motion.

To effectively use the doujutsu genjutsu, how would you go about it?

Hmm, the best way would be to try my very best to make sure eye contact is established between myself and my opponent. How to go about that is another issue, maybe in a close range taijutsu fight I might have a decent change at getting close enough to force eye contact. Converse to that, being at mid-range and simply standing still may also work as my opponent would be scanning me for any signs of action to make there counter to.

Well, strategy and good planning is needed to be able to use it effectively.

Let me see if you have a good understanding of genjutsu... what is genjutsu? <-- not sharingan genjutsu

Well... Genjutsu is a type of ninjutsu that utilises illusions in order to attack the opponent. It does so by disrupting the chakra flow of the opponent by using ones own chakra, to create illusion that could ultimately injure the opponent. To trap someone in a genjutsu, they must send there chakra into their opponents nervouse system (Via sight, sound, touch, smell) and use it to distrupt and alter the signals being recieved by the opponents brain to cause any number of illusions.

First question... can someone re-word that description? xD

Second, is this the jutsu Itachi ued against Kurenai in the original series when Itachi came to check up on Sasuke? Itachi used it to reverse Kurenai's Similar to Illusion Technique: Tree Binding Death, trapping her in it instead?

*As you place me under a genjutsu, making me believe I am being lifted into the air and bound by vines growing from the ground, I use my sharingan to first identify this is a genjutsu. I then release chakra through my sharingan to not only mimic the jutsu it self but now lay it on yourself, making it appear to you that you are now being held by vines.*

@__@

Sorry, this is a new thing to me so the my descriptions are bound to be... messy xD

Next

(Doujutsu: Chouetsu no Shunmin) – Eye Technique: Transcend to Deep Slumber technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will use their Sharingan to cast an illusion upon the opponent by looking them into their eyes; this illusion makes the enemy fall asleep but makes them think they are still watching the opponent without realizing they have fallen asleep.
Note: Requires direct eye contact with tomoe 3 Sharingan.

Eye contact needed. But you make the opponent fall asleep, but the illusion is that they are still watching you and not knowing they have fallen asleep.

*Staring your clones directly in the eyes and with my sharingan activated, I release my chakra directly into your clones brain by sending it through my sharingan and into his eyes. I use my chakra to cause your clone to still see everything as it is at the moment I released my chakra, using it to fool your clone as I make him fall asleep. You clone then falls asleep while still standing, though he still thinks and feels awake and alert to his surroundings.*

Breaking this genjutsu would be difficult at first as you'd first have to identify that you where asleep. The most common method for breaking this is the dreaded Chidori Nagashi as I'd think you'd be unable to use hand seals. However, I still don't know how to identify if this as a genjutsu if I were to be caught in it. >_<

Well that would be a problem wouldn't it? try to think outside the box because in order to use this effectively you need to know what the opponent would do to break it. That goes with any genjutsu and not just sharingan genjutsu.

Yes, I see your point.

I think I'd be able to sense my drowsiness as I fall under the genjutsu or I'd notice interdependencies with what I see compared to what I'm hearing around me. If I hear my opponent running at me but all I see is them standing there, it would be obvious to me I'm trapped in a genjutsu. Then a process of elimination would be followed to work out if I can use Kai, or if I hear my opponent too close, I'd use Nagashi.

Good. For the remainder of this session, I want you to reply to me on how you would defend/break from the genjutsu's.

Next!

(Doujutsu: Shiranui) - Eye Technique: Phosphorescent light
Rank: C
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user will cast an illusion to make the opponent see six copies of the user that detonate simultaneously harming the target. The explosions are explosive kunai to deal damage whilst the enemy is distracted in the genjutsu.
Note: Requires tomoe 3 sharingan.

Basically you put them in a genjutsu which they will see six copies of you and explode. But you are just throwing a explosive tagged kunai at them

( Genjutsu: Sharingan ) - Illusion Technique: Copy Wheel Eye
Rank: C - S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15 - 40
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique is simply the use of generic genjutsu used by members of the Uchiha clan. By simply having their opponents look into their eyes, the Uchiha can lock the user within a genjutsu of their choosing.
Note: Can only be used with 3 tomoe sharingan

Self explanitory.

Do you still want me to perform the Genjutsu? O__O

I give away for this being a genjutsu is that no hand seals would be performed and six clones would be formed, where as a limit of four has been established in this RP. Another give-away would be that the clones seem to appear out of no where, and do little but run at the target. If the target is really good, they should be able to hear the explosive tags as they burn en-route. From these cues, I would then perform a Kai, as this jutsu doesn't paralyse me and is a low enough rank for the Kai to release me.

Countering this jutsu would depend on exactly what it was. If it where a low rank visual genjutsu, it would be a matter of noticing sensory misalignments between what I see and what I hear, feel etc. In that case, a Kai would suffice. As it gets up to higher ranks, I would just have to work out the gen and then decide if Nagashi (for B-rank) or kai (for up to S-rank, non paralysis) or a jolt of pain would work.

Question about this gen. It says C-S rank, do I just simply state the rank of the gen I put someone under and then describe the effects of it (Like paralysis, pain etc)?

No, Do you remember the technique wind return? that can return all wind attacks lower from B rank down?

This is the samething pretty much. Forexample i use a b ranked genjutsu on you. You use the above technique, now i'm in the same genjutsu i put on you which is B rank.

Get it?
