He already knows it, that is why he never intended to revive Madara and wanted Sasuke as his replacement

Exactly. Great thread.

The pieces were always there especially the fact that Madara was controlling the kage of the mist...same village that was involved with Rin's death. This theory just pretty much put the dots together and made it very crystal clear on how Madara devise his plan to own Obito's allegiance. Great job derp!

Deerp obito you know i respect you theories but this one is a failed one....

The bloody mist guys still wanted her body after... her death... she could not be a spy her body had something special...
You must be registered for see images
Kakashi would not kill her just for being a spy trust me on this one....

And there is the obito saying that kakashi let rin died not that he killed her , that means rin was already going to die even before kakashi chidori her....

Maybe rin had a poison in her body or something that would make her explode and kakashi had to kill her to either escape himself or ease her pain.....

Or a special body that could be an experiment of something

I agree that Madara plan this....the smirk on fis face knowing obito will return

I think she's a Manchurian Candidate/Involuntary Spy, it could also be poison or a bomb, but I think Rin asked Kakashi to kill her none the less. :)

She can't be a Manchurian Candidate/Involuntary Spy because those ninja's wanter her body even after she died !

Why want the body of a dead girl if she is just a Manchurian Candidate/Involuntary Spy ?

No reason.....

Because her body contains the "recordings" of her involuntary spying.

She needs to be alive so that the enemy could get infromation...

The only recordings that are done in the naruto manga is the ones made by zetsu eyes

I don't think it's necessary for her to be alive to obtain the information that she acquired, afterall shinobi bodies contains many secrets/info. even when they're dead.

I think Madara definitely did plan some of it. The Rin part is very likely part of the plan. I don't know if Madara planned to meet Obito in the first place. In other words, I don't know where Madara's plan started and what part was just luck. For comparison, here are two versions of Madara's world domination plan:

With Obito:
1) Unlock Rinnegan. Summon Gedo Mazo to keep Madara alive
2) Give Rinnegan to Nagato (how could he, if he was tied to the Gedo Mazo? Did Zetsu deliver it?)
3) Meet Obito.
4) Stage the death of Rin. Turn Obito into an ally.
5) Obito convinces Nagato to hunt the tailed beasts
6) After all the beasts are collected, Nagato (perhaps under Genjutsu) is forced to revive Madara or Obito takes Nagato's Rinnegan and does it himself
7) Madara becomes juubi jinchuuriki and takes over the world.

Without Obito:
1) Unlock Rinnegan. Summon Gedo Mazo to keep Madara alive
2) Give Rinnegan to Nagato
3) Have Zetsu convince Nagato to hunt the tailed beasts (harder to do, because Zetsu doesn't have sharingan and can't pretend to be Madara)
4) After all beasts are collected Nagato revives Madara (no genjutsu or backup plan, you just have to hope Nagato does it)
5) Become juubi jinchuuriki and take over the world.

Comparing the two plans, it's obvious that without Obito the plan is very fragile and depends on Nagato doing the "right thing" many years later. With Obito, there are backup plans which help to guarantee everything happens correctly. It's hard to imagine that Madara didn't have any backup plans in place, and that he would rely on Nagato to do the correct thing in the end.

i can't agree with that only zetsu can record and konoha shinobi exlpored the brain , like kisame got his brain explored but he killed himself to prevent information.....

soory i realy think its a bad ideea to say rin is a spy....

I don't think Obito intended to revive Madara at all, he wanted to use Sasuke as Madara's replacement:

That's why he pressured Sasuke to obtain EMS, he needed him to cast the Mugen Tsukuyomi.

I suspect Obito had known for a long time Madara's involvement in Rin's demise, that's why he doesn't like the guy.

I always considered this was the case, but you were able to explain it in a much more simplistic/eloquent way than I could. Nice thread. And love the avatar, haha.

-whistles- An amazingly good theory my friend. Most of this stuff, people had suspected on, by good to see someone actually put it into words.

Hm, now that could be the case because we all like to believe Obito isn't that dense. Still, for a better emotional tug, it feels like Kishi may just have Obito discover that Rin's death was indeed orchestrated by Madra, and possibly set up a physical conflict with him. This would create a great moment of redemption for Obito, as well as deepen his overall character. Your theory though is plausible and entertaining enough, that I wouldn't mind seeing that conclusion as well.
