Pretty good guess, but what if Madara just cast a genjutsu on Obito to make it look like Kakashi kill Rin when it was actually the other nin. Also what do you think of Obito later saying to Kakashi "You let Rin die" instead of "You killed Rin"?

granted kakashi never stated that he "killed rin", but....he also never stated why he allowed rin to be killed by someone else. and if that was the case, why would they show a clip of kakashi using raikiri? why not a kunai or something?

I think what Obito meant when he said to Kakashi that "You Let Rin Die" was that Kakashi did not find an alternative option from killing Rin or that Kakashi failed to prevent what was done to Rin's body that lead to Rin asking Kakashi to kill her

Madara uses the fact that Raikiri is one of Kakashi's distinguishing jutsu's, making the person killing Rin unmistakeably Kakashi leaving Obito with no way to mentally convince himself otherwise. And yeah one of my biggest questions is why didn't Kakashi tell Obito the truth about what happened with Rin when Obito confronted him, maybe because he actually killed Rin or he has no idea what he's talking about? Just something to consider

You completely lost me when you started talking about Manchurian candidates and then Madara squashing obito with the rock was insanity but then you brought it all back around with how Rin told kakashi to kill her because he looked upset at the fact that he killed her thus showing he knew what he was doing and wasnt under genjutsu/being tricked into doing so. And the scan of Zetsu saying he knows why Madara chose him signifies that there were other options and Obito was who he picked, thus he set up the rock falling... brilliant!!

I think Madara knew Obito had Kamui, that is why he made Obito experience pain to awaken it
