Since I started UNS3, I've found I like close range fighters such as Asuma and Guy. However, recently I've been getting beaten online a little bit. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for characters who are somewhat similar? That or some tips for the two characters previously mentioned would be very much appreciated.

-you have to sidestep very often never stop moving
(most close range fighters have good mobility)
-dont chakra dash unless you have helpers
(with guy asuma these guys are not very safe after this so try to cover yourself with helpers!)
-spam-no-jutsu/abuse people with your jutsu
(wait for people to try and and make there way to via chakra dash "since youll be moving" and then punish with your tai or ninjutsu)
and dont forget close range fighters naruto guy lee asuma have hella priority.

Please just don't go for comboqueen Neji right off the bat, there's other options.

Like you said, Asuma & Edo Asuma are pretty fantastic. Asuma's Instant Awakening makes him a really strong character, i dont get why more people dont use him? Also Part 1 Hinata is perfect and is the perfect counter for when people try to use people like Madara. My best close range character is by far Chouji.

Try out War Chouji, I like both versions but Butterfly Bomb is a bloody useful move and if you can use Chouji well you can REALLY use Chouji well.

Try using characters like Neji or Pain. Stay defensive and play it safe; throw shuriken and use an attack-type support to bait them to come close, then use your jutsu to push them right back again. Never charge in with guns-blazing, since they will easily gain the upper hand.

Avoid getting trapped in their combos by 'dancing' around them, then you can try dashing into their back for a stun and using your jutsu. If your health is pretty low, I'd advise taking that opportunity to throw out a support to do damage to them and backing away.

Alternatively, you can use someone like Tenten or Temari, and maybe even puppet users to keep them at a distance from you.
