I am just fallowing what Kishi said and he said Naruto and Sasuke will forever be equal and that's what people need to deal with.

Actually I would say SM Naruto and MS Sasuke with Susanoo are about equal, Naruto noted that if they fought they would BOTH die. (Don't forget that Sasuke had to back off as well at the bridge).

Naruto decided to get control of the 9 tails so he could take care of Sasuke without having to lose his life in the proccess.
