Jiraiya's death was the most epic. Itachi was a very, very close second. Just seeing Jiraiya struggle like he did after becomming such a loveable character did it for me. Itachi had a nice build up, but his death didn't hit too hard until Obito told the truth about him. That kept me turning pages for a while when I bought the magna and before I discovered it online.
