Well the problem of countering Izanami with Izanagi is that Izanami was specifically designed in order to alter or counter the use of Izanagi.

Itachi explained this once the technique was revealed. Anyhow, by activating Izanagi, one is altering what happened to them, or who they are as a person...so under that premise, they would be susceptible to the event of Izanami.

Were the user of Izanami to capture part of the even that the Izanagi user was trying to erase...they could be stuck in an infinite loop if they are unable to accept or realize what they did.

For instance, if someone denied they would have died because, "I would have just used Izanagi!" This person would be trapped until they admitted they would have died....

Still...in theory it could be possible to erase yourself from the existence of Izanami...so I see where your're comming from ^.^



Regardless of this, if Madara believes in himself and his cause...Izanami won't do anything to him because Madara is ALREADY choosing the correct path as opposed to trying to take a path that isn't his true path.

Madara is detailed on Uchiha kinjutsu and izanami was being used long before itachi. Madara already knows it's counter is acceptance; he'd escape at the point of incarceration.
