Proof of this please.

Kakashi stated it when he was helping naruto learn to apply element to shape. He said he tried to do it but chidori was the closest he could get

Minato has been confirmed in the manga as better than Tobirama.
You seriously bolded just a few words short of what he actually said.
actually there's no proof that it was a S/T jutsu,it was just a sword cut with a fancy name.until the manga proves that ftg is invented by tobirama, the ftg is still minato's.

Except that everyone said that it was created by him. But whatever.

There are many techniques of the variants of the body flicker. This does not mean that minato did not create ftg, his technique is a stand alone, as well as tobirama's.

What? They're not the same at all. Chidori is a piercing jutsu that uses a large concentration of lightning style chakra. Rasengan is the condensed form of pure chakra that rotates at high velocities to blow back its target. Also, why go through the trouble of learning Rasengan for himself if Chidori is just a different variant of it?

Chidori was created because Kakashi couldn't apply lightning to the Rasengan.

Since Minato specifically differenciated his S/T jutsu to Tobirama's while comparing it to Obito's, it must mean they are different. The technique Tobirama used seemed to be Mifune's sword style more than a S/T technique

I'm sorry but I think you are wrong.

THis has happened before... this translation is not to be trusted. Other translations do NOT say "FLYING THUNDER GOD SLASH"... and this website's translation has always proved to be the wrong one. With this logic, Obito also used the FTG which is incorrect, he just knows how to S/T travel.

What 2nd Hokage did was a S/T Jutsu, which he obviously did NOT create himself. And many other shinobi have S/T techniques as well. FTG involves teleporting to a MARKED symbol or kunai... until the manga proves Tobirama "marked" Izuna before that attack... we need to assume it was a basic S/T Jutsu that he combines with his sword slash.

Unless manga shows tobirama was the one who created FTG until then it is minato's.

It's likely that he teleported to the sword he slashed Izuna with....

Tobirama used a jutsu called flying thunder god slash decades before Minato was even born, I not sure what else we can take away from this...

Proof of this please.

May not be concrete and direct, but this is the best I can give you. Feel free to disagree.

So much wrong with this thread lol. You might want to re read the chapter. That was nothing close to FTG.

Dude, the name of the jutsu was flying thunder god slash....
my point exactly,it's just the name is similar, but is there a solid proof that the move he used is a S/T jutsu?

The technique that Tobirama used during Today's chapter was flat out called flying thunder god slash

First of all, the fact the name might have been "translated" to be similar, has nothing to do with how the technique was preformed. Minato's FTG requires seals (reverse summoning), which we did not see Tobirama do to preform this "Flying Thunder Slash", which in fact makes it two separate techniques.
