Now that we are approaching the end of the fighting and the part of the beginning of the foundation of Konoha and in relation with the recent chapters shown, it is safe to conclude that the Uzumakis were not descendants of the Senjus nor were they a "Brother Clan" to them (Having the Senju Ancestor as their common ancestor) for if that was so the Uzumakis, if they were descendants or a brother clan, would've allied themselves with the Senjus during the war against the Uchihas and the other clans but they didn't, their relative absence during the fighting solidifies Kushina's statement that the Uzumakis were only distant blood relatives and not immediate/direct relatives of the Senjus

They are not descendants of the Senjus nor were they a "brother clan" to them (which would make them close/immediate relatives) they were a "cousin clan" with them (meaning they did not descend from the Younger Son/Senju Ancestor) thus explaining their absence and non-participation during the fighting.
