lets see.... thunder god slash and flying thunder god technique. you can clearly see these are 2 different things! since when did ftg give you any kind of momentum to cut thru someone if you look at the panel he was definitely moving at high speeds NOT teleporting. i think its just a high speed attack. I believe Minato might have looked up to the second and decided to name the jutsu (he created) after one of the 2nd techniques. i also thought it was funny he was yelling out his attack like it was a rasengan lol all we see is him cutting Izuna yelling out hairashin blah blah!! and everyone is like omg!! he has ftg minato copied the 2nd!! when they arent similar at all if your going by the manga lol hope every has a good day today :)

p.s wasnt that lame that he didnt kill Izuna with a water technique??? WACK

actually no i actually sais "Flying thunder god slash"

anyways moving on i dont believe it is the exact same sort of technique which minato use's but who knows... since it is just a picture its hard to tell exactly what the move itself is and whether he is actually teleporting or not.. however i believe it was a type of shunshin

Lol Tobirama was so skilled he didn't need his water techniques :scorps:

Anyways clearly the Flying Thunder God Slash and the Flying Thunder God technique are different principles.

Tobirama's technique is most likely a Space/Time Ninjutsu that operates under the same premise of FTG; however, as a sword technique it operates in a linear/ direct attack where as Minato's ability more flexibly allows him to move directly to multiple places, but not necissarily doing so in a manner to attack while teleporting.

To try and clarify that (just in case)...Tobirama's S/T is a linear attack that brings forth basically death if you are in the line of motion. Minato's allows him to move about multiple points on a battlefield and then strike opponents from different angles after teleportation.

Actually it's very likely, since Tobirama was said to have an S/T jutsu. He says the name,it's a picture it's hard to tell if he is moving and Izuna had sharingan he could track the movements of the sword unless there was an incredibly fast technique.
So for me it's a jutsu similar to FTG.

Ya'll isn't just associated with the 90s...

Oh I'm well aware, I'm just associating it with the 90's because of a lot bad series and people trying so hard to incorporate it into their everyday speech.

'Twas a simpler time...

Man ther have been a ton of these threads today trying to prove one way or the other. Minato and Tobirama both deal in S/T jutsu. Though they are not same technique. Maybe Minato used tobirama's tech as a variant to his Flying Thunder God. Minato created the Rasengan. It wasn't stated anywhere that Minato created the FTG tech only that he taught it to his bodyguards.

izuna's sharingan was inactive, they were fighting for a long time, its obvious from the destruction and the bodies lying around

even madara was down to three tomoe instead of MS but madara is stronger than izuna and can probably maintain sharingan longer

We don't know for sure and we will never know..Izuna could of had his 3T activated before getting hit by Tobis's S/T tech..also the manga states that when madara and his bro had MS they were almost equal in strength.

no madara has been said to have unparalleled chakra in his clan which highly suggets that he can use sharingan longer
