[PS3] Plz Help!! Storm3 Do I need to finish the game before I can use the dlc characters?

I am from Australia but I created a US account to use the 5 bonus character dlc because my code was from north america. However, after I downloaded and installed the dlc, its not appearing in the game- like in free battle. Is it because I still haven't finished the game? Or is it because my game disc is from a different region.

I don't think is required as long as you have the codes for dowload.

I noticed something like this too. I have the dlc for the Goku outfit, yet can't seem to be able to put him in the darn outfit in free battle....

used the code and installed but the characters dont appear in the game free battle

Dude just go to naruto sage art massive rasengan and change his outfit to the third one its gonna be Goku

I tried doing that several times logged off and on apparently the game is region free so it should of worked but its not for some strange reason.

I absolutely HATE NAMCO BANDAI! Kin/Ginkaku, 7 swordsman of the mist, and Edo Kage will NEVER be playable! They said 'they're for story only, it would be impossible to put them into free battle' well not really... They've got the code in the game for the characters, which includes the jutsus, combos,maybe awakening and Ougi so they could just implant the codes into dlc, it can't be that hard. And I got the 5 costume dlc, but the code didn't work. I contacted them, they said they can't help me... So yeah, sorry to go off topic, but I just really wanted to get that out

The characters do appear in free battle, just not as a separate character. So for the Naruto wearing a Goku costume, you have to go to one of the Naruto's in free battle (can't remember which of the three) and instead of selecting it, hit R1/L1, or RB/LB (can't remember which one) and it'll change him to a Goku Naruto. I don't have the other DLC characters, but by making an educated guess they probably work the same .

You are probably not doing something right I doubt that it's the actual code.
My disk is R2, my main account is european and I redeemed my dlc from an asian account but I can still play with them on my main without problems. You should be able to use it in all accounts like me provided you do all this on the same ps3. I hadn't finished the story either when I got them.

sorry for reviving the thread but I'd like to thank everyone who tried to help, I finally got the dlc to work- had to purchase another code from EU region and this time it worked on my main account.
