It doesn't matter really. I enlisted because I wanted to see the world and I did and that my family has served. I had high scores, but I chose to be an infantryman. My score was high enough that I didn't have to retake the ASVAB when I switched my MOS. I say this because sure the military can provide opportunities and I guess financial help with your future, but understand that you should enlist because you want to serve not because what the service can do for you.

BTW I was in the Marines. I joined that because I wanted a challenge. I was 18 and fresh out of highschool. Being a grunt in the Marines was a challenge, but to be honest, I good times.

Why do you want to join if your going to be murdering people. I am middle eastern and when my uncle was fighting, he said it was the worst experience ever. People think war is helping but all it does is hurt the innocent. Don't listen to the lies that say the war is needed

Honestly, Joining the Marines is like signing your self up for the worst possible shit you can think of. Why? Because anywhere in the world where the dangerous shit happening, things that are not on the news yet, trust me, they will send you there.

Join The Air force.

That's what i'm doing when i grad in two months.
That's what the Marines is all about What do you expect free cupcakes? It's the worlds greatest fighting force.

I'm aware of that, which is why i stated anywhere in the world where the real shit happening they will send you there. The sentences alone indicated that they are the best of the best, and if you cannot handle being shot at, don't join.

Yeah. Okay.

Edit: 1. All humans do what they feel is right for them. 2 All humans feel the need to be set apart from others to define them. 3 Marines are the few that walk a path of most certain death and in the face of death they say" I am the strength that defends weakness, I am the fear you feel for doing wrong, I am the light you see before eternal darkness. I am here because I am the most needed for a job that know one else will take or can do. I am A United States Marine and I will do what ever is needed to keep the weak safe and the strong worried." ^_^

this guy wanted solid advice from people with experience and knowledge. so far only 2 people have given that too him. That's myself and the Navy guy. no one wants opinions or advice from people who arent even in the military, nor do they want advice from someone who isnt even done boot camp. How are you going to give advice on an experience you havent even been through yet?

Either way, you face a low chance of survival. Even if the enemy doesn't kill you, you're not returning home the same person. My dad was in the Air Force, never saw combat and was always safely stationed on secure bases, but it changed him still. It's the training, boot camp is designed to mold you into what they want you to be, regardless of the cost to your sanity, and even once you're out of boot camp that don't exactly just let up, it's still serious.
