[Theory] Possible Reasons Behind Rin's Death.

Beautiful. Your theories have aroused the interest of the Dark Lord. I enjoyed them all. I'd say my favorite one is the second one, her being a spy. But you know what, judging from her suffering, I'd say the first theory is probably most likely what happened. Thank you for this thread.

Good theories one and all. First off I'll say I agree, it is not a plothole that Obito specifically states "because you LET her die". I'm so torn on believing whether Madara genjutsu'd Kakashi/Rin/Both. He could have, but then you would think Obito would have to know this in order to say that phrase. And to know that Madara was responsible I think would def. end his allegiance to Madara. Instead he plowed on with the plan...

(With the small exception of the Nine Tails attack, where Obito had the 9 tails and could have skipped out of town with him, but instead threw it all away attacking the Leaf because he "Just don't care about it anymore". Don't even get me started lol)

...but I digress, Madara may have (and with his "You'll be back, and at that time you'll thank me properly" comment he more than likely did) had something to do with Rin's death. And for sure the Gedo statue could have fueled his long range genjutsu, or he could have cast one via the multiple Zetsu's he had roaming around doing his biding.

I just can't see Obito not saying "Because you killed Rin" unless he was aware of the specifics already.

I think this is the most important clue of all in your theory

I'll go with the one where Madara put Kakashi under Genjutsu.... Obito must have realized this after watching Kakashi's irregular Chakra Flow.... That's why he said,"You Let Rin Die." and not "You Killed Rin."

since obito supposedly slipped into madara's cave, i suppose one of the zetsu were around at that time watching
Obito's fight and waiting to get the sharingan for Madara to have another eye maybe, then madara decided to use him as apart of his plans, to make sure nagato didnt fail...especially while zetsu was dragging obito's body down to
madara, obito's body might have been phasing in & out of zetsu's grasp and thats when madara realized
obito had a more unique power with his sharingan....
they said Minato was on a mission and it could have been trying to recover the 9tails form the raikage's ninja
unless thats when he saved kushina as a little girl:|
but zetsu is a weaker form of madara/hashi so they arent as potent nearly , but just enough to follow orders

okay enjoy ur meal ...also LOL...i think since zetsu was apart of madara's mazou that maybe 1zetsu had the extra sharingan to madara's eye and he could wear it and go out recording with it along with its own zetsu recording powers, and show madara what he sees above ground, and they would get an image of what kakashi looks like, thats why he still had that slash through his mask from when obito "died" cuz either they got them from obito while he was sleeping(dreaming) tsukuyomi could have been cast on obito while he was dreaming about kakashi and rin(the way they looked when he left them)and madara opened his eyelid and cast genjutsu on him to see what kak * rin looked like while he dreamt about how they looked the last time he saw them then zetsu gently laid him back down in his little wooden bed:gn: like nothing ever happendZzz
