I had thought of the first and second theories before but the third one surprised me and indeed they are all plausible....good job!

Not bad mate, but I have to point what Swapnil pointed out as well. By that point Kakashi was broken because of his loss of Obito. It was when he lost Obito that he vowed to hold his team above the mission at all costs. The Genjutsu is a high possibility if not for your reason but a lot of reasons, and the most believable. Rin was born in Konoha, maybe she was caught and brainwashed, but its highly unlikely since Obito Kakashi and Rin have been together since being Genin. Not saying your theory's are impossible, in fact those are the best I've seen thus far on anything based on this topic. However... I can believe the Brainwashing thing now that I think about it, because she -was- seperated from them during the Rock Mission where Obito died, those people might of done something to her, or something or another at some point before Kakashi and Obito got to her.

I believe that Madara orchestrated this like you suggested however, He seems like the kind of person to do that, just like Obito is doing for Sasuke at the moment.

Yeah, it kinda makes you feel bad for kakashi too, despite not knowing what happened behind her death. He visits her grave every day so he never forgets about her. Also if you think about it, kakashi lost his 2 best friends at an extremely young age. Im surprised he's not traumatized tbh.

part of my theory with yours about kakashi being undr genjutsu is that madara's missing eye, the one that he didnt have is
what he gave a zetsu to cast a genjutsu on kakashi similar to KA, or maybe i also thought he had zetsu cast a genjutsu using his missing eye's sharingan on the kage of the mist and had him order those ninja to abduct Rin(or something)...
and maybe since obito was asleep for a long while before he realized he was alive, madara took Obito's eye out and did something to
it,(since obito "died" and woke up he has always had his sharingan activated and never turned it off. i was thinking Madara studied Obito's eye and did something to it(like he transplanted it back into obito's eyesocket like many other transplants you cant turn them off.)
