[Discussion] [Anime] One Piece Is Soo Boring

[Simple Math]

To be honest, however long an anime is- if the first 50 episodes haven't hooked you- it never will.

Time to hang up the towel (I had this exact situation with Bleach- couldn't stand it. Generic and boring)

I disagree with that. it's not that it didn't "hook" you. it's just people who expect too much from an anime for the first chapters. I mean, comparing the first 50 bleach chapters to the current arc is just :sy:

oooooww..pls one piece is crap....d animation is so old fashion nd childish....its nothin to compare wit Naruto, Bleach, FMA or Deathnote.....

omg, thank you!!! i'm glad i'm not the only one who doesn't like it :nuts: I've been reading the manga. I read the first 36 chapters, and it's just not that good. I know it's a little young for me, but still its SO DAMN OVERRATED. I do get that it will probably get better since Luffy is still trying to recruit members and everything. But even taking that into consideration, it's just not worth reading... especially for a 60+ volume series. I cannot believe that this sometimes gets better rankings than animes like Death Note in anime lists. Luffy is pretty funny sometimes, but I think young Naruto was funnier. And Ichigo and Naruto are so much cooler than him. :naruto: I'm gonna keep reading until it gets into some of the better arcs, but I agree with you completely.

As people have stated, everything before they enter the grandline is a prequel to the story. Luffy gets a crew, we find out about his crew, like their back story, and we figure out what motivates Luffy to want to be the Pirate King. The real adventure starts afterward.

Also it is good to note One Piece is a adventure manga. It's not about awesome fights like Bleach or Naruto, it is about the story. If that does not appeal to you, save yourself the trouble and quit reading. Just note that everything you have watched so far is nothing compared to what will be coming.

Hey troll. Get on your real account and say you hate One Piece. Someone who joined in 2010 and has only 30+ posts is obvious an alt account. Even if you never post, you have found the time to post 2 times recently about hating One Piece and calling it crap. That's 5% of your total posts being used to bash One Piece. Pretty sad imo.

The first 100 chapters are just introducing stories and setting up for the main event. You have not even begun to see how epic One Piece gets. Just note this was Oda's first serious manga. He was experimenting a lot at the beginning and figuring out how he wanted to go about making the story. Remember the 1 chapter of them just finding some guy stuck in a box. Ya. That was Oda figuring out if he wanted to do a episodic story, or something more like an epic. After Oda realized how popular the series got, he got serious and it became the greatest story in manga history. This manga has become part of Japanese culture. No other manga has done that. Even in the U.S. where people claim Naruto is popular. It is only known by selective groups, aka nerds. In Japan, EVERYONE knows One Piece. Everyone watches it. Everyone reads it. Its like American Idol in the U.S. There is a reason for this. Its not because "its SO DAMN OVERRATED." It is an amazing manga. Give it time and you will see also.

Yea, I already figured the begginning wouldn't be the best part... but 100 chapters of introduction is too crazy who wants to read that many chapters and then find out they don't like it :| But i understand how he changes the story U_U I'll continue reading it for a while...

Also try not to skip anything at all as ALOT of things re-appear into the story and are important later one.

oh yes watching the first 10 episodes or 20 chapters speaks for the rest of the 600 episodes and chapters -______________-

by the way OP is a manga that will make you cry over a ship .......... A SHIP , that's how good it is

You can't say a manga is overrated when you just read a few chapters, and Zoro is way but way more awesome than Naruto and Ichigo, just sayan.

Even if I did read only a few chapters... it shouldn't get such great reputation if the beggining is that bad. I actually have read some of the more recent chapters, cuz I have a lot of Shonen Jump issues. It was mostly the same, except for the Drum Island arc and the chapters at around volume 14. I actually kind of liked those parts.. but now I'm reading it from the beginning and it doesn't help that the first hundred chapters are bunk (yes it said it, and i don't care how much flame i get. It's the truth, thats what I've been getting so far)

Don't give up, keep reading it, you'll be rewarded with the best manga experience you ever had and that's a damn guarentee.

everybody has and opinion here's mine ....one piece sucks not my kind of thing. i like bleach especially now with this very interesting flashback. people wonder why ichigo was so strong ....now we know. onepiece is to kiddish for me.
