Why the hell would you need to listen to other people to like a show? "After such and such is good" just bloody watch the show and see, don't stop at 50 episodes and start complaining. Its not going to get anywhere. Op is completely clueless. He relies on other people for opinions.

honestly this doesn't make any sense to me , so what if someone relies on other people's opinions , I am pretty sure that when you started watching anime you didn't find it in your own and for example began watching Ecchi all on your own , Op just wants feedback about the anime it's the same with books , tv series , movies .....etc you can't just try out everything it's impossible

But seriously, it all depends on your preferences. The first few arcs aren't that great, but I thought they were hilarious as hell. Something got me hooked, so I kept watching it. When they enter the Grand Line, it just becomes pure awesomeness. Watch until you're finished with the Alabasta arc, if you can, then I can bet you're hooked as well. But again, it's a matter of prefence and your opinion, I'm just giving you mine

Try going to episode 64...Whiskey Peak is initial stages of the Alabasta Arc! You basically are at the end of the hunt for Nakama, and at the start of actually progressing! Around 93 is when they are basically at Alabasta/we see action in Alabasta.

I can't say I blame your current feelings as the inital hunt for people is when they aren't very strong, or they don't have a whole lot going on, and are just people hunting.

well, you're not forced to watch/read it because other people say its good. I can just tell you things get epic later in the serie. just don't do 1 thing.

In my the series starts to pick up once the sh reach the grand line before then it's mainly introducing crew mates.

To be honest, however long an anime is- if the first 50 episodes haven't hooked you- it never will.

Time to hang up the towel (I had this exact situation with Bleach- couldn't stand it. Generic and boring)

you should read the manga instead because it's quicker, you could probably read 10 chapters in the time it would take to watch one episode

One Piece sets itself apart from the other Big Three in that it only gets better and better, not belittling Bleach or Naruto.

The beginning starts off slow, but as crew members are accumulated, things start to pick up to a much greater extent.
You should also know that as it progresses, the drawing quality becomes much better. Ever read Fairy Tail? Yeah.

For me the only thing I thought was crappy was the Usopp arc. Even the Buggy arc wasn't that bad because it was only like 3 episodes.

& everything else I liked & the Arlong arc for me was when I was sold on the series. & the end of Lougetown to me it was saying OK everything before this was just the prelude & now the adventure begins.

Because really the East Blue stuff was just Luffy gathering his crew & then saying OK we got the crew now let's do this & I can see why someone could see that as boring because OP is very slow paced.

I really got into it at baratie maybe you just don't like it or you just need to wait for it to appeal to you if it doesn't by episode 100 just give up on it because watching a show you honestly don't like is a waste of time
