[Discussion] Homosexuality. We were born that way

It can appear in the animal kingdom because some animals are Asexual which means they don't need a specific partner to reproduce, so they can/will have preferences to whichever gender they choose.

It's hard to logically think a member of the human species would be born "Gay" this would mean that there is some dormant "Gay" gene, created by some mutation, which I doubt there is, I'm not a scientist idk.

Just to be clear, by 'some animals are asexual' do you mean individuals within a species or a species as a whole? If the former, then it would imply there is some dormant gene. Idk either, I am bad at science .

I mean a species as a whole... There are species that do not require opposing genders inorder to reproduce.

ok, just wanted to be clear. But there is evidence that some animals that are usually heterosexual do form homosexual partnerships/behaviors. The most famous ones were the two male penguins (a couple) that successfully hatched eggs. There are also quite a lot of black swans in homosexual partnerships. Funny story, apparently they get themselves a third wheel (threesome, much? lol) and eventually steal her eggs (which the gay males fertilized) and hatch them. The list goes one. Whale included...some disturbing mental images lol

One thing you must realize is that "Gay or Homosexuality" is a human term, which means what/how/why a Homosexual human being is attracted to the same gender is not necessarily going to be the same for other animal species.

Maybe those two penguins are two really close penguin friends, same goes for those black swans.

Well, for you it might be like that but not all people feel the same.I have friends that homosexuality was a choice for them.It's still unclear if the sexual orientation/preference is a trait that develops through experience and environmental influences or if it's genetically predefined and demonstrates after an amount of time and under the specific social conditions.Both sides have good arguments and many scientific evidence.
Anyway,in both cases people are free to live their lives they way they choose.If a friend of yours is having problem with your sexuality try to discuss it seriously with him and if he keeps insulting you and can't accept what you are,well,he is not a friend you should miss if you part ways.

whilst Heterosexuality is a natural phenomenon to carry on the race, Homosexuality is also natural to hamper the population. In my opinion, asexuality and homosexuality is nature's way of keeping the balance.

Technically, according to biology you are born a Hetreosexual due to the necessity of wanting to eventually continue your existence in this world through sexual reproduction with the opposing gender...This seems completely logical to me, since you aren't born with gender bias, it is something developed.

The necessity to reproduce is an even greater power than that of sexual desire, IMO, so you would have to choose to not want to naturally produce a child and feed one's urges formed from their sexual desires in order to have a sexual preference that is not the "Norm"

Sorry, this is not what asexuality means. Asexuality is the lack of sexual attraction to anyone, or low interest in sexual activity.
