pretty elaborate theory, seems valid as well... but dont think so...
the reason why oro dint use the reaper seal jutsu to get his arm back was...
that time when writing the manga kishi was sane and
when orochimaru used reaper seal jutsu that time kishi was high on weeds...
thats the only logical reason, some people give kishi alot more credit than he deserves and dig up and theorize every single thing
hoping to find the answer when their is none...

Really now, not to be mean or anything, but I thought it was quite clear for some why Orochimaru wanted Sasuke so much besides his normal plans. He did tell Tsunade in part 1 that there is still one more way to bring back his arms. Now it all makes sense. Or at least, it should.

Yes indeed, that would explain why after the Tsunade Retrieval Arc Oro immediately tried to recruit/capture Sasuke

Yes, that is why after Oro lost the fight with Jiraiya and Tsunade, he had the Sound 4 immediately try and recruit sasuke and take his body

However, there is a flaw. Orochimaru wanted sasukes body before he even fought the 3rd hokage, he didnt even know of the rds at that time so his reasons for wanting sasukes body was not to get his arms back. Nonetheless great job in explaining how the unseal jutsu works, i see no reason to disagree with that.

It appears that it isn't possible to undo the seal without entering the Uchiha Shrine and gazing at the tablet. That leads me to believe that probably Uchiha wiped out Uzumaki clan as they probably were brewing something up way back for sealing their eyes, which Tobirama thought were symptoms of madness. Serves them right. Perhaps, Madara was involved as we know that the village existed till the time Kushina was brought to Konoha.

Thanks, and Yes i did state in the original post that the initial reason Orochimaru wanted Sasuke's Sharingan was to use it to learn/copy all the jutsus, but he became even more obsessed/desperate to get Sasuke because he needed to possess him to open the uchiha sealed door to the tablet.

Young Sasuke initially awakened the sharingan during the massacre and broke free from itachi's genjutsu

Exactly, as he did body transfer right before Sasuke made it to his camp and yet his arms we're still shot.
I think, Oro needed the sharingan initially to get more/all jutsu's including those sealed away on the shrine. The addition of everyone having sharingan's transplanted(ie: Danzo, Kakashi, a crow for crying out loud)and it actually functioning for them was a misstep on Kishi's part, as now we all wonder why Oro didn't just transplant some eyes while he was in contact with Obito.
I think, his arms being sealed made it go from him wanting a sharingan, to needing one.
