That a personal preference issue really, what you find cool, other's might not.

The reason this image was chosen is because it's fairly simple and there's not alot of detail, this is supposed to be so we can give hint's and tips as well as a competition, so we didn't want to scare people by putting up a highly detailed or in-depth image to color.

every image can be colored in different ways ,details aren't important for that

this image has colored only Sasuke Uzumaki (and she sad it was hopeless at the beginning), not by me neither by you, so this image wasn't cool-looking.

Also, we know from the manga, that nagato has red hair, both of you left it black, why?
