I don't believe in any religion too and I dislike people who try to enforce they beliefs and opinions to others (from both sides).
I think that parents should try to to let their children choose what they want to believe and not try to brainwash them.
I was lucky enough to have parents that always supported me and never opposed my choices.
I used to believe when I was really young due to school, society etc,etc but after I grew up a little I gave up faith in religions. My brother on the other hand still believes. Our parents never forced us to do anything,we developed different beliefs but we have respect for each others beliefs.
I think that's the best a parent can do for their children.

The really important thing here is not to submit, she can try to take away your possessions or your home with those idiotic religious threats but don't let her take away your free will, because that is so much more valuable.

Never understood why religion starts such commotion. But on topic, you could either try to find some common ground with your mom or just move out. I never had this trouble with my parents on religion, but my family isn't all "religious" as if do this or be banished to the depths of hell for all eternity.

Don't get offended but you're mother sucks... I don't understand religious people and theyr methods, I personally got kicked out once for a 5 days ''long time ago though'' for emptying dad's mini bar while they we're away... not that I did it on purpose. Party went out of control

So are you implying that I live a lie, like I pretty much did throughout my entire childhood?

That's impossible...I can't sit in church laughing in the preachers face...I'm not that cold!

I'm a recovering catholic. Parents mostly mean for the best of their children but that can be distorted into personal bias. As you grow and gain independence you will begin to figure out if religion Is right for you.
I'm just starting medical school and have yet to figure it out. Usually people don't figure it out till they are ready for kids and mariage

I dont believe in religion of any kind from what i've seen people just believe in this stuff to have something to have faith in due to there insecurity.

I know when i told my brother i dont believe in god he just started scaling on me telling me im going to hell and that im worthless shit just because i dont care for that religious stuff.

The "truth" is good for you. If your belief holds no "truth" it isn't good for you.

Mind telling me what your implying? Or your just gonna be a religious prick about it.

New International Version (©1984)
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

or maybe...

Genesis 22:2 Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.

Look at it from your mom's perspective. She really loves you and she feels if you don't believe you will suffer in hell for all eternity. She does not want that on you and really wishes you would believe. The problem is she is going about it the wrong way. You can't force someone to do something they don't want to do. It never works. Like if I told you to watch One Piece right now because it would change your life, you won't.

The other problem is you need to respect your mom. If you are living with her, you need to respect her wishes. I think you two should sit down and just talk about the situation. Don't try to force either of your beliefs on each other. Just say Mom, please don't try to force your beliefs on me. If I feel the need to want religion in my life and go to church, I'll tell you. Until then don't ask. it just causes problems. If she doesn't respect your wishes then its on her. At least you tried to make things right. Depending on how old you are and if you have a job, you could move out and find some other place to live.

Stop and think which is easier.
Daydreaming for an hour in church.
Paying rent.

You can also try what I did when I didn't want to go to church anymore. Wait until it gets silent for prayer and let one rip. Your mother will be too mortified to ever take you to church again. The wooden seats amplify the sound too which is awesome.
