Closer than most people. But I don't quite get how distant the Senju and Uzumaki are. Are they Senjus with different names? Did part of the Senju clan split? Would that even matter? Is there such thing as pure members of clans? If there is wouldn't that mean that clans practice incest to keep their clan "pure"?

I'm not sure how distant the Senju and Uzumaki are either but they're different enough to be distinct clans. So it's probably a really paltry connection. Madara doesn't really consider Nagato or Naruto as Senju...

I guess that they probably just don't exhibit the unique genetic traits as much as 'pure' Senju or Uchiha.
They just don't have the genetic features.

But I don't think it's incest, 'clans' are probably more akin to race or nationality

I've seen the latest fight with the 1st and madara and it was an epic fight.. but take into account that madara had kurama.... i think without kurama it would be an even fight and nagato would win...

But you have to add that the Uchiha would need significant Senju DNA and vice versa in order to be 'complete'.

What unique genetic traits? I saw pictures of Uchihas and Senjus and they seemed like a pretty diverse group... Especially with Hashirama and Tobirama(Did you see those two? You never would have known they were brothers if you were never told) Also, didn't Senju get strength of body from the Rikudo Sennin? I believe it said that the Senju gained the Sage's physical energy and life force. While the Uzumaki's are known for huge chakra reserves and their longevity. Sounds like physical energy and life force to me. So the connection seems more than just "paltry".
