I remember once in the manga that it is said opens the 8 gate , once would gain immense strength and even become stronger than the hokage , but one would die shortly after..

Since the hokage defeats kyubbi and is stronger ..if 8 gates enables the user to become stronger than the hokage..than lee should be able to beat naruto when he is in Bijuu mode..

but then naruto is capable of destroying mountains..and i am not sure if 8 gates would allow the same feat

7 & 8 gates gives the user the ability that surpassed the strength of Hokage for a limited time and the user could die. However since naruto has strong resiliency, I think Lee would have died before he could bring down naruto.
