The following day, Zephyr heads directly to Hotcakes for brunch.

Artemis: napping in her new room, warmth and comfort enveloping her. I know Ace despises traditional designs, but I love this one. It's so....me.

*Ace sits down in a corner of Hotcakes, disguised. His hologram would take care of any business he had. Ace just needed some time alone.*

*Ordering a pot of tea and a stack of traditional hotcakes, Ace turns off the holo-projector on his wrist, disconnecting him temporarily from his corporation. His AI hologram would fill in for now*

*Ace's hotcakes and tea arrive. The meal is enough for two people. Ace reveals two belt buckles in his pocket; one that has an engraving of a wolf, and the other; a fox. He fiddles with them.*

*Ace doesn't eat his meal. Instead, he sits in deep thought; as if he's expecting someone to join him...*

Doctor: after we check the connecting with the ones you have on

*grabs a thick black input cord with*

Kiri: *lifts the back of her shirt up*

Haru gets out her dual adamt katana and practices with it.

*Nova goes back into town and heads to Hotcakes. After sitting down in a corner booth Noba wonders what to do about the meeting. He quickly orders some blueberry Hotcakes. Once the Hotcakes arrive he looks at the necklace he is wearin and smiles*

*Gen leaves the house to take a stroll.*

"Haru, Inashi, I'm going to take a walk, clear my mind."

(Seriously Gen needs a partner, cause the main characters, eldest family member (brother or sister) usually has a romantic interest, they die, then they go on a rampage and die, taking a bunch of baddies with them.)

 

[Yeongwonhi]

*Gen leaves the house to take a stroll.*

"Haru, Inashi, I'm going to take a walk, clear my mind."

*An hour passes. Ace looks a little better now, although the hot cake stack and tea had gone cold at this point. It seems like he'd come to terms with something*

*Taking the Fox badge, he opens it. Inside, a picture of Ace and the Kishimoto siblings as children can be seen. Smiling, Ace has a moment of nostalgia, before placing it on the table*

*beside it, a rolled up scroll has a note written in it with exquisite calligraphy (most likely from Ace himself). It reads: To KFs, Thanks for all the memories, I'll never forget those times. I've come to terms with who I really am, and so, I leave you this as a reminder of who I once was. Your friend, Kazuhisa Juichi of the Kishimoto Foxes (or, Ace)*

*Ace leaves Hotcakes, but not before instructing the waitress to make sure the things he left were untouched until the right people came. Ace turns on his wrist holo-projector and teleports to his office*

*Back in Hotcakes, a pot of tea, a stack of hot cakes, the scroll, and Ace's badge are quietly resting on the table.*
