I think that gedo mazo is the body shell of the juubi and the ASAP madara wishes to combine them toghter.. but I am also little skepticla on this matter, since I recall reading somewhere that SO6P locked juubies body at the center of the moon by using chibaku tensei...
but the connection of the sunju's thousand hand thing and madara controlled current gedo is little unclear...
personally I think that since all of them were born out of the sage art they have similar kind of presentation and abilities...

I am 100% sure the ShisuuSenju is Chiriku's jutsu. Just on a much more massive scale. Take a look at the one that Chiriku/Asuma used and compare it to Hashirama's.

It is not rouglhy the same size.. it's as big as the Nine Tailed Fox, which is much smaller than the Shinsuusenju

Exactly, they are not even close in size.Shinsuusenju is much bigger and they look too different from each other.Namely the number of hands doesn´t match at all.Gedo has some thing that look as if they are broken arms or something but nowhere near the amount of arms as Hashirama´s jutsu.

i don't know man but i think you might be right, might explain why madra got the idea of taking his cells in the first place, maybe the 1st summoned it as a last resort against madra. Which then freed him from the moon. makes since to me, good find hope it turns out to be true.

Gedo Mazo is a little more taller than Choza and Choji's huge form.... So Shinsuusenju is way more huge in size than the Gedo Mazo....

This ^^^ he finally was able to summon it from awakening the rinnegan. Shinsuusenju is not a summon, just an innate mokuton creation that only moves because harashima's chakra is controlling its movements.

Hashirama is a true senjutsu user. That giant mokuton buddha with a thousands hands is going to give susanoo kyuubi some trouble. However I believe Madara hasn't pulled out his full stabilized perfect susanoo yet. When he does it should be able to give Hashirama at least some more challenge.

you guys forgot,it was nagato that first summoned the gedo(when yahiko died),hence gedo is nagatos summone and was use as the 10 tail shell afterward,so it not in any way related to hashis summone.

Madara Uchiha was able to break the seal placed on it by the Sage of the Six Paths, who had sealed it within the moon, and summon the body to earth. The Demonic Statue was later used by Obito Uchiha and Nagato as the container for the tailed beasts that were captured and resealed into it by the members of Akatsuki
