What Sage mode does is enhance his speed and strength, taijutsu skills can only be increased with soldier pills which naruto doesn't have.

Actually SM is perfect for taijutsu.
It increases your speed,stamina,durability and strenght!
You don't have to touch an opponent to hit them.
