Billboard has announced that U.S. YouTube data is now one of the factors when ranking Hot 100 songs and songs on its other charts.

The new rule went into effect this week, with the viral-video hit "Harlem Shake" debuting at No. 1. Other factors include radio airplay, digital download sales, physical single sales, on-demand audio streaming and online radio streaming. Billboard's new rule incorporates all official videos on YouTube, including Vevo."

When A New Music Video or Song Goes Viral On Youtube, then it Automatically Becomes A Number 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100!

These guys get it.And btw it´s nothing new the fact that music has been going downhill over time.I mean it´s not like it happened last year or 5 years ago, no...music got progressively bad the moment money ´prostituted´´ the music industry.

I will explain further,people or society in general tend to behave in patterns, like a herd or a flock...The so called music industry knows that, so what they do is bombard people non stop with ´´marketing techniques´´ advertisements,ads,music videos on TV,the internet, everywhere,anytime,all day,year long...simply put they try to brain wash the masses into believing their music is awesome.

They invest large amounts of money into promoting people with zero or no real talent (Justin Bieber and the like) and in return for their investments the get an even bigger revenue from their so called ´´artists´´ once their brainwashing techniques come into effect.

Luckily some of us,actually realize the truth about music.It stopped being an art many years ago and now they turned into a mere business.Don´t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong in making money using money, but it shouldn´t be about the money someone can generate,money making should not be the main focus ever in music.

It should be about the art, about making the music they love.Thank God there will always be independent record labels who give real musicians with real talent an opportunity to really express their art and musicianship and quality music.
