Naruto is not stupid. He is immature and naive, and has a learning disability (ADHD, difficulty with written/logical queustions). As a result he loses focus when the subject he studies is academic and theoretical, and fails practically every paper test. However, when he is being taught using special techniques that take advantage of his strengths and use very concrete, gradual steps, he can show amazing results (as was the case when he was learning rasengan, rasen shuriken, sage technique). Having the ability to cut learning time using shadow clones, is one example where he really shines.
If you have never dealt with a child who has a learning disability, it is easy to shrug them off as "stupid", when that is not the case.

In Part I Sasuke was not nearly as emotional as he is now. He was still out for revenge but he knew his limits. Naruto was still fairly smart in battle but he had no sense of advance tactics and was not even aware of how his shadow clones worked.

In Part II Sasuke started spamming his MS techniques, which caused him to go blind. He was also blinded by revenge for Itachi. He made many stupid mistakes such as thinking he could take on Killer Bee simply because he had MS and the same goes for attacking the Kage summit. Naruto however became more aware of tactics and wasn't so naive in battle. After years of training with Jiraiya he became smarter and wiser. Now he has earned the praise of many powerful shinobi such as Itachi.

I agree. Sasuke in Part 2 started to let his emotions get the best of him after Itachi's death and he tends to always underestimate literally everyone's power and that's exactly why he got his ass kicked and almost died 3 times aginst killer bee and if he hadn't awakened amaterasu he would be dead. Naruto is really slow and not book smart but when it comes to battles he keeps his head in the game and is starting to keep his emotions in check as seen via his fight with Pein, when he found out that Kakashi had died but he didn't break down and remained calm and accepted it & when Pein killed his mentor frog (i forgot his name) which was surprising cause we all know Naruto is really emotional sometimes and was somewhat calm until ya know Hinata got hurt then he lost all control.

While I think it it was possible for shikamaru to be a jinchuuriki he could probably be a damn fine one, but the simple fact is it isn't possible. Naruto is an Uzumaki, he is unique in that he has a lot of chakra, strong life force. He also has what they call the will of fire, he doesn't give up. While in recent chapters you can see how he has been emotionally effected by the loss of his comrades, he's still fighting at full force.

As far as his intelligence, he does seem dim-witted at times. But he has also showed the ability to come up with good plans in tough situations. He works hard at bettering himself all the time. I think Naruto is a bit smarter than what people give him credit for.

Sasuke is by far a better tactician than Naruto. In recent chapters he has let his emotions get the best of him and made stupid decisions. Ever since he got MS he has been acting a bit foolish and relying too much on the power of his eyes rather than using his head in battle. However if you watch some of his previous battles, like his battle with deidara for instance, you will see he is very smart in battle. If he is in the right state of mind the sky is the limit for him, especially now that he has EMS.

Most people say that Naruto is stronger than Sasuke right now. I am inclined to agree with them, but the fact of the matter is we really haven't seen something with just EMS fight to their full potential. We've seen Madara fight(which is ridiculous OP) but he has the rinnegan and mokuton too right now. We still don't know what EMS alone is capable of and I think we're going to be surprised when we do.

There's a reason why Tobirama is so afraid of Sasuke becoming "another Madara" He will be very powerful and very hard to fight against...If Hashi still wasn't alive when Madara attacked the leaf they would have been screwed. No one could have fought on an even playing field with him.
