You upload a manga reader scan, i give you a manga stream. Nice but you see majority agree that mangastreams translations are better than manga pander/Reader. Also note that, itachi was interested in the village's origins and what not and this is what contributed to his wisdom. Things that others his age had no clue about

indeed. while it's good to note that hiruzen's hype is more of a stand-alone sort than comparable vs others, it's safe to say that Itachi's wisdom was at least superior to Kakashi's, Neji's and Sasuke's at a comparable age since we saw them in their teens and all of them were somewhat misguided at the time. Minato we cannot say since we didn't get any insight to his ideals when he was young apart from that he aspired to be hokage since the academy and saved kushina from the kumo jounin.

I don't see how someone at an academy could of seen that he was a genius, sakura aced the exam and she didn't get called a genius, which tells me it's all about his power.

I doubt that a teacher could possibly know that he's has intelligence that is considered "genius" level ...

Its true that apart from knowing when minato graduated, the manga hasn't shed much light on upon his early life, so ill give you that.

There are many forms of genius, there is a genius of hard work (lee). However there is also genius when it comes to anything combat related. Example shikamaru has a 5/5 for intelligence. Sasuke has 3.5. However sasuke graduated top of his class and was hailed genius of that group.

Both sasuke and shika have been labelled genius for different reasons. Shikamaru's is to do with knowledge whilst sasuke's is anything battle orientated. However itachi is a genius at both. He excels at anything combat related, but also the info he has on the world around him, and recently to be able to read and understand enough of the village's origins and be said to have wisdom states that he is also intelligennt and this wisdom is enough to call him a genius when based on pure knwoledge and not anything battle orientated

So yes its possible that this is what his teacher meant, but at the same time there are many other things taught at the academy.
