Well, the teacher only said that Itachi was the best student that he (personally) had ever taught, which isn't as glamorous as one may've first thought. Nonetheless, Itachi was a smart guy, can't really deny that.

Its true that majority cannot see past tainted and untainted hype, but it isnt just itachi's fanbase .

Yeah, he was a prodigy. But like others, he had some major flaws. Good thread overall though.

that means practically nothing though, who has graduated from the academy in the 5-6 years since Itachi did? that was before Sasuke enrolled, and I can't think of a single konoha shinobi in between those ages. Sai maybe, and perhaps some fodder anbu. the best shinobi konoha had to offer were all before his time before the k eleven generation.

Itachi doesn't have Hokage's "wisdom" no. Hiruzen meant by that, that he thinks like a hokage, he wants to protect the village at all cost exactly like a Hokage thinks. It's even for that reason that Hiruzen was talking about the fact that Itachi was always thinking about

Might I hint you that ninato made an hasty plan in his time of duress,and it came into fruition!

True that. Even so Hiruzen's hype covers people like kakashi, sasuke, neji, minato. That cannot be denied since he reigned during their time
