It still stands that Itachi died in a fierce battle with pre MS Sasuke, due to a combination of his sickness and over exertion, naruto doesn't even have to put himself in harms way as he can have km clones, bm clones, with a sm clone out there for sensing purposes, and there's no way Itachi's reserves will outlast him or his clones.
Itachi is one of the best in 1 on 1's, but naruto's very fighting style makes it 1 vs 10 or so beyond kage level opponents. Furthermore Itachi's vision was going bad. That's no good when fighting ten clones that all move faster than you and each 1 of them has the 1 shot capability he's good, but if you think the real itachi can take out BM naruto, I want some of what you're smoking.
BM naruto is too much for Itachi, and if you say edo Itachi can handle him I say who cares, because it only means you know the real one can't, not downing Itachi, but ppl are really over estimating him. he'll have to work much harder than he did when he died fighting sasuke, and nothing in his arsenal can't be countered by simply sending in a clone.
