Anime advice

First I gotta say up until a little before Tobi was revealed to be Obito, I've been watching the anime instead of reading the manga. I just watched that Itachi used Kotoamatsukami to break edo tensei. I have just read chapter 550 and everything in it was all stated in the episode.

1. That being said, if I'm just watching the anime and not reading the manga covering them, am I missing out? In other words, should I go back and read the whole manga?

2. Also, in your opinion, is the animation in the anime currently lacking in quality?

3. Is the manga on this site the best translated? Ive noticed theres occasionaly errors in translating and a lot the jutsu are still in japanese translation.

If you like the manga by all means read it, I don't think anyone could sway how you feel about it. There is one bonus to reading the manga, and that is not having to worry about the people who place actual spoilers in their thread titles. The downfall of not reading the manga would be not knowing which filler parts are shoved into an anime episode.

The manga is short by chapter, is hard to follow, takes a while to read and understand, and is not in color.

If you would rather watch the anime, you will still get a good story out of it. But you may not be able to debate with some hardcore fans here lol
