This is only my second thread so I'm still getting familiar with tools such as spoiler tags, image placement etc.
Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender was an amazing anime, you should go check it out if you have the time. Anyway, The Last Airbender was released a couple years back. (There is a new series of the original show which is named 'Legend of Korra') Although it is concluded, there are still some mysteries the anime has left out.
I rewatched some of the episodes of the series and stumbled across the particular episode that creates the mystery of Zuko's mother.
The whole episode is basically explaining Zuko's past. Showing his younger days with his sister Azula, his loving mother and his douchebag father.
There is a scene in the episode where Azula shows off her advanced firebending and then undermines Zuko's firebending. I can't help but think that Azula had something to do with her mother's death?
Zuko's family is categorized by their personality. There are split into 2 groups:
*The kind nature; Zuko and mother
*The arrogant nature; Azula and father
(Zuko's Uncle = Iroh,1st son)
(Zuko's Father = Ozai, 2nd son)
Iroh's son was killed during the invasion. This traumatised him and made him weak. Ozai then used this as an excuse to let him be next in line for the throne. According to Azula, due to Ozai's arrogance he was asked to kill his own son as a punishment; 'I think Iroh has suffered enough, but you, your punishment has scarcely begun!' ~Firelord
This leads me to my theory what if Azula wasn't lying and her father was actually asked to kill his son? This leads to the mystery of Zuko's mother.
IMO this is what I think went out...
After Azula was patronising Zuko in his bedroom Zuko's mother asked to have a word with her. Azula tells her that her father was asked to kill Zuko. This leads to a fight between the parents. Ozai doesn't hold back because he is cold-hearted and Zuko's mother starts to firebend like a badass - dont judge me. :scorps: xd
She would probably try to warn Zuko before she fought Ozai - and potentially killed by him?
