I was just looking back at a couple of chapters and episodes from both the anime and manga when I found out this info.

Remember when Zoro was begging Mihawk to train him and told him that he defeated all of the humandrills? The anime contradicts this the statement by showing that there are still a few humandrills left that Zoro had to face during his training.

And because the anime is a separate canon from the original manga, this would mean that Zoro's two years of training probably revolved around daily sparring matches with Mihawk, which would kinda explain the the scar on Zoro's left eye.

So I just want to know, because Zoro's two years of training probably revolved around daily sparring matches with Mihawk, would this mean that by now, Zoro is at or near Mihawk's level and he's just holding back right now?

Zoro actually has the rinnegan under that scarred eye... Here's what happened.

Mihawk told Zoro to go to the shops to buy some milk; as it was breakfast and Mihawk really wanted his cereal.

Zoro got lost on the way to the shop

1 year later...

Zoro sees a random stranger with a mask, battling another person with orange hair...

Zoro: Oi Oi Oi Oi Oi, have you seen a shop around here?

Kakashi: Uh...

Deva path: Um no, but here, have this eye.

Zoro: Well thank you... I'll be off then.

Zoro, with his luck, gets shinra tenseid all the way back the Mihawks mansion.

nah, i believe his waay stronger now but defeating Mihawk, is just too much for him right now. If anything i think Zoro could take down Vista with a nice battle between the two

Actually you are wrong, the anime and manga did not contradict each other. I don't know exactly which words Zoro used in the anime, but as far as I remember they were more or less the same. He was under the assumption that he beat all the Humandrills, in the anime they just extended that scene by adding to it that there were still others left, however that doesn't form a contradiction with the manga as there is nothing in the manga that actually says that what happened in the anime couldn't have happened in the manga unless my memory has gotten really foggy.

Both manga and anime followed more or less the same plot if I remember correctly, only in the anime it was shown Zoro just made a mistake.

Also Oda is more involved with the anime than most mangaka's, so the anime and manga aren't so 'separated' as you claim them to be. There is't really a reason to assume there was a difference in training Zoro had in the anime and in manga.

And even if that was the case, it doesn't really matter as Zoro is beyond all doubt NOT on Mihawk's level. That's something that can't even be considered. If you do, then you are severely underestimating Mihawk. Neither is he 'really close' for that matter.

I don't think Zoro is way below Mihawk anymore. But one thing I know is no matter how strong Zoro gets, he won't have an easy match against Mihawk.

Zoro's ultimate goal is to become the greatest swordsman which he would achieve by defeating Mihawk, do you really think that he is near that point while the manga is likely to still have 10 or more years to go? Think of it like this; Mihawk was able to fight on par with Shanks in a swordmatch, do you really expect that Zoro is able to achieve such a feat right now?
