We know that the Straw hats are a pirate crew with unique abilities so I don't believe Zoro himself will ever physically eat a devil fruit and it's probably not Zoro's style to depend on anything but his physical abilties and the power of his swords. Nevertheless, Zoro is interested in obtaining powerful swords or swords with devil fruit powers. Zoro has actually expressed interest in a fire sword here:

"I always wanted a fire sword" he says to Luffy. This could then be foreshadowing a devil fruit powered swords that Zoro currently has or will obtain."

People forget that Zoro's ambition is to be the worlds strongest swordsman and thus by extension his goal must be to obtain the worlds strongest swords. We have seen Zoro taking ownership of new swords throughout his journeys on the grand line. Unfortunately, Mihawk currently holds the worlds strongest sword: Kotuo Yoru. I don't believe Kotuo Yoru is designed for Zoro, first and foremost it's 7 feet in length which makes it impossible for Zoro to use his 3 sword style techniques. I know a swordsman must be able to adapt to the their new swords but a sword of that length cannot be used with 3 swords style as it will look ridiculous; besides, Zoro can only obtain Mihawk's sword only after he defeats Mihawk, which won't happen any time soon. While Mihawk has the strongest sword in the world, that doesn't mean Zoro cannot get a sword equally powerful or make one that is far more powerful.

So that's a simplified theory: I have established Zoro's interest in a fire sword, I have established Zoro's interest in gathering the strongest swords, I have established the fact that Kotuo Yoru would be ridiculous to use with 3 sword style. Now, I'll wait and see what Zoro does.

My preference:

I want Zoro to obtain
- 1st - shark sword that morphs its edges into shark teeth ( similar to samehada) . Now that would be cool and matching Zoro's personality as Oda described.
- 2nd - of his swords could have a demon or hell devil fruit that would again match his personality as Zoro tends to name most of his attacks on religion despite being an atheist.
- 3rd - Sword be like Spandam's elephant one. Which open up into a fully grown elephant with a sharp trunk.

Please, share with me your preferences :)

for staters Zoro doesn't need a devil fruit ability to be able to defeat Mihawk. The thing is Mihawk is the strongest swordsman in the world without any devil fruit ability. One of the swordsman from the Whitebeard crew was able to fight on par with him and I think Zoro is way stronger than him. back to Mihawk, Zoro might defeatMihawk now... i mean he was fighting Mihawk's copy.. that huge monkey and he sliced it up

Interesting theory. However, as for the fire power, I think he'll attain that in Wano. How? He'll prove he deserves Shusui and then he'll be taught how to manipulate fire. Afterall, he already knows how to ignite a wound and make them set ablaze a la Ryuuma.

As for the swords, a sword is only as strong as it's wielder. Meaning Mihawks sword maybe on of the 12 supreme graded ones (meaning therea are 11 on par with Mihawks blade), but Mihawk himself is what makes his sword the strongest. Hence why Zoro will surpass him and his sword. Just like what Mihawk said at Barratie.

I don't think Zoro will have 2 swords (or even 1 sword) which morphs since that isn't really pure swordsmanship.

Furthermore, I highly doubt that Zoro will stop using Wado and I highly doubt he'd give the soul of Kuina (according to his sensei that's what the Wado is now) a DF or an ability.

Lastly, I think Zoro's EoS swords will be; Wado, Shusui and he'll give away his Sandai Kitetsu at Wano and be rewarded (due to himself proving his worth) there other grandest sword. A sword on par with both Wado & Shusui. The Nodai Kitetsu.

Just no, Vista wasn't on par with Mihawk, Mihawk was fighting Vista while looking to Luffy, if he wanted he would've won, and no Zoro can't beat Mihawk now, only at the end, just becasue he sliced a copy doesn't mean he can beat the original.

I agree with everything here.

It would be cool though if the ace's fruit was given to one of his swords, I mean luffy seems to be okay with any of his crew members taking the fruit but we know franki didn't want it lol cause he likes to swim.

If Fujitora's sword has eaten a DF(gravity) maybe one of Zoro's swords may eat Ace's DF.
It's more likely that he'll replace the Wano sword with a new sword though and learn how to cut fire.

Why would he replace Shusui? Ryuuma gave it to him to achieve his dream with it since he had 2 swords back then. That's why it's most likely that Zoro will be awarded the Nodai Kitetsu at Wano and he'll leave his Sandai since Nodai>Sandai. And that'll be his last change since all 3 swords will be of the same grade.
