Using coby as an example can't help you here as he can't be compared with those guys by any means.

The things that you successfully managed to overlook are as listed below:

Coby's growth rate is far grater than that of anyone from M3.

Apart from having a strong teacher Coby has nothing that can be compared to M3 where as members of M3 can be compared with each other in so many aspects.

Even if he has great potential Coby is super young,when compared to M3.(19Y old Coby might be stronger/.weaker than M3 when they were 19Y )
Zoro and Sanji trained for equal amount of time so they can be compared.

Zoro and Sanji are around same level when they started training so they can be compared.

Zoro and Sanji's potential is more or less on the same level so they can be compared.



Zoro has:

More time to train.
Better teacher.
More potential

so it is only logical to say that Zoro gained more strength.

He cut a big rock in half with the cannon. Pika didn't scream because of 1080. It was a shocked scream as he is fine when we actually do see him.
