Chapter 1 - First Trial
I woke up the next morning thinking about what happened last night. There was something wrong about that little girl more than her voice.
I got up and headed towards the bathroom to brush my teeth. Suddenly, I realized that something else was wrong.
"Wait..." I said to myself. "Mirror!"
The mirror turned a bright yellow.
"Yes, Master Scorpio?" It responded.
"What is the date?"
The mirror displayed the date. I dropped my tooth brush in shock.
"No..." I said, stunned by the sight. "It can't be!"
The clock said: July 25th, 10098 and it was exactly 1:30 PM.
I yelled and rushed into my room to get dressed.
"No, no no!" I yelled. "I overslept!"
As soon as I finished getting dressed, I ran downstairs into the main corridor where Sagittarius was waiting.
"Phew... I thought I was late" I said with relief.
"Oh, no. You are an hour late. They suspected that of you and left you a mission to do on your own. But, I thought I'd accompany you" She said while smiling.
I smiled back, "Thanks, Sage"
She took out a rolled up letter from her pocket and told me to read. It was the directions to the city where my mission was.
"So... Tairu Town?" I asked.
"Yup, lets get going!" She said, energetically.
We sprinted out the gate into the forest heading to the town.
Suddenly, I stopped.
"Wait" I said.
"What is it?" She asked.
I collapsed on the floor.
"I just realized that I am tired"
"What! How do you just now realize!?" She sighed, "Well, I guess we can take a small break right here, just don't go to sleep"
I nodded and stared at the sky. I thought to myself, don't fall asleep. But then, something got caught in my eye. I blinked once and suddenly it was night time.
I looked over to Sage who was knocked out my the tree, face first.
"SAGE!" I yelled, "WAKE UP!"
She jumped up instantly.
"W-what?" She asked.
"We overslept!"
She shot up, grabbed my hand and dashed towards the gate of the town.
"We need to hurry, if we don't complete this mission, Leo will..." she wrapped her arms around me in fear and her voice got deeper, "He'll torture us..."
I wrapped my arms around her.
"No, worse... He'll probably send Capricorn or Virgo..."
We started running faster.
"Sage! I'm out of breath!" I yelled.
"We haven't even been running for 5 minute yet!" she replied, but then we reached the gate and stopped.
There were citizens waiting for us at the gate.
"Are you are two Zodiac Guardians?" the first citizen asked.
Sagittarius bowed.
"Yes, I am Sagittarius and this is Scorpio"
A few citizens muttered.
"Oh man, they sent the weakest ones"
"Yeah, they obviously don't care about us just because we're a small town"
"And look at the guy, he doesn't even look like a Zodiac"
I shot up and glared at them.
"I am the Chief Guard, Zon. Please, come this way!" the first citizen said.
We ran with him to the center of town where three other citizens were tied up in front of a blonde man.
"Please, you've got to stop him!" Chief Zon yelled.
The man turned around.
"Oh... It's you two" He said.
Sagittarius was shocked.
"N-no..." I said.
"It can't be..." She said.
"Tsuyo!" We shouted in unison.
"I see" Tsuyo said, "You two have gone and become Zodiac Guardians... Let's finish where we left off. Where you two left me to die in the forest!"
Sagittarius took out her bow and arrows.
"Scor... Don't hold back now. He's a danger to everyone" she said.
"B-but..." I said.
"Scorpio. I know how you feel, but we have to do it"
"But, Sage... He's our master"
Tsuyo grinned.
"Come on, you two." He yelled, "This time, I won't hold back"
