(Suiton: Mizu Kuri No Yaiba) - Water Style: Sword of Draining

Description: A technique that utilizes water to create a sword. The sword can be wielded in the normal fashion, allowing the ninja to cut and stab like with a normal blade.
Note: Doesn't require a water source.

As mentioned already, this technique doesn't require a water source, which means that you create it using your own chakra. You expel it through your chakra points in your hand and you shape manipulate it into a sword. The sword it more or less like any other blade but it's made of water. Once you form the sword you compress it, etc to make it solid and have all the other properties of a regular sword. What's interesting with this technique is that it can be a life saver in close battles or if the opponent knocks the real weapon out of your hand. It's fairly easy to create and you could even make it as an extension of your arm in case the opponent tries to avoid your initial punch. This would give you some extra distance and be like a follow up attack.

I agree, a lighting technique would be very efficient, but water is not weak against lightning. It's weak against earth. Lightning is dangerous just because water is a great conductor of electricity. Either way, you're right.

Description: The user will manipulate their water chakra and releasing it from their arm which is held outwards infront of them and they then create a shield of water that can aide in defence against projectile weapons and close combat techniques.

A very simple water construct. You hold your arm outwards and you release your chakra forming a shield that protects you. It's very simple and very basic thus a very effective defense against fire techniques as well as weak projectiles. Since it's a defensive technique you don't need to defend from it but I'd like to hear your opinion on how to overpower it and damage the user when he has the shield active.

Performance
I begin by gathering chakra in my right arm, I gather more chakra before I begin turning my raw chakra into Suiton chakra. Once my Suiton chakra is moulded preperly, I begin releasing it through my arm while using shape manipulation to make my Suiton chakra take the form of a shield that is attached to my arm by. This protect me from enemy's kunais.

Counter
Since the user is on the defensive, I would probably attack him with a C-rank or above Taijutsu attack, which would penetrate the shield and harm the user. Also by using any C-rank earth technique or above, since water is weak against earth, which would again harm the user. Lightning would also be a good idea, since the user is not shooting water projectiles at me, but is keeping was constant, which would shock him while keeping the water barrier/shield.

Advantages
It would be a nice combination if I combine it with "Sword of Draining " technique, creating a shield and a weapon. It's good for protecting you for weapon projectiles.

Disadvantages
Can be overpowered by C-rank techniques, except fire, which the shield would be able to block till C-rank. One hand is blocked holding the shield, so no handseals can be performed.

What are nature and shape manipulation?

Both nature and shape manipulation are the "keys" that a ninja needs to produce a jutsu.

Shape manipulation pertains to the ability to give your chakra a desired form. It determines the size, range, and purpose of a technique.
Nature manipulation pertains to the ability to give your chakra a desired set of characteristics/properties. There are basic types into which the nature of chakra can be transformed, but there also advanced types when combining 2 or more of the basic types together.

So both Shape and Nature manipulation are types of molding chakra as to give chakra specific characteristics. Nature manipulation refers to type of molding chakra in which you give chakra a desired set of characteristics or properties. When it comes to fire release, you'd focus onto heatness, when it comes to wind release you'd focus onto sharpness and thinness, when it comes to lighting release you'd focus onto vibration and tingling and when it comes to water release you'd focus onto coolness, adaptability as well as flexibility... Whereas Shape manipulation refers to type of molding chakra in which you give chakra desired form.

So when it comes to my trainings. I don't have any specific template that you can fill but as we go through the techniques, just answer questions I might have for you. Also keep in mind that whilst performing techniques I'd like for you to mention both shape and nature manipulation. If you don't have any questions we can proceed?

Alright, so let's get onto techniques [=

I believe we are on C ranks now. We will be going with two techniques per post unless of course you'd like only one technique per post.

So the firs technique of C rank allows you form a whip of water with which you are capable of striking your opponent with either lashing action or wrapping it around him as to bind him. Perform a sequence of 3 hand seals, Rat → Dog → Ox as you focus suiton chakra within one of your hands. Once finish with performance of hand seals release the chakra and with usage of nature manipulation generate water whilst using shape manipulation as to form a whip.

Now tell me what is speed of performance when it comes to this jutsu as well as why would you rate it as such speed. When judging the speed of performance I'd like for you to take into account the amount of time it is needed for preparation of technique as well as time in which it reaches opponent. Hand seals take quite some time and thus make a technique slower to perform. Speed can be either Slow,Medium or Fast. Also tell me what are advantages and disadvantages when it comes to this jutsu.



Now this technique is actually variation of water release, Syrup. There are many customs that are being made atm with this variation as it is quite useful. Pretty much gather suiton chakra within your upper body as you perform a sequence of two hand seals, Ram → Tiger. Then, release suiton chakra from your mouth whilst using nature manipulation as to generate adhesive substance and shape manipulation forming a stream. Now with this adhesive substance you are capable of inhibiting mobility of a person. If you were to channel chakra into your feet, you will be capable of walking onto the syrup.

Description: The user After performing the required hand seals Ram → Tiger spits out high-viscosity, chakra infused water, aimed at a surface of wide scope. This is a stream of sticky liquid which can be used to form an adhesive trap that can inhibit a person's mobility. One can effectively reduce their enemy's area of activity with this technique, and has the effect of being able to take complete control over the battlefield. The normal scope of this technique is normally just a few metres, but if prepared, it is also possible to make an entire pond of starch syrup. Being caught in the technique can be avoided by channelling chakra to one's feet allowing one to walk upon it uninhibited, beforehand.

I quickly perform the Rat->Dog->Ox hand seals and begin gathering chakra into my hand. I continue gathering chakra until I use nature transformation to turn my raw chakra into Suiton chakra. Once my Suiton chakra is properly molded, I begin releasing it from my hand as water while using shape manipulation to condense the water to create a whip made of water. I then use the whip to bind my opponent with the whip and leave him lying on the ground after using the technique.

The speed in the jutsu is not that high. Firstly, the handseals take some time. Then, after you've performed them, you'll need to transform the water into a whip, which I think also takes some times. The time it reaches the opponent is almost instantaneous, since the lashing can be very fast.

As for advantages and disadvantages. A nice advantage is that you can bind opponents with this, and you can also perform a Raiton jutsu while he is bound by the water whip. You can also use it to protect yourself from incoming projectiles.
The biggest disadvantage for this technique is the time it requires to be performed. Also since it's only a C ranked technique, it can be easily overpowered. And while you're holding the water whip, someone may release a lightning jutsu at the whip, which would shock you.

I quickly perform the Ram->Tiger hand seals and begin gathering in my lungs, I continue gathering chakra until I use nature tranformation to turn my raw chakra into Suiton chakra. Once my Suiton chakra is properly molded, I spit it out through my mouth in the form of a sticky syrup like substance that messes my opponent who is mid-range from me and slows down his movements after I used the technique.

Ok so the speed in slow to mid normal, not fast. As we saw in the video, it wasn't fast enough to reach Kakuzu. He dodged it by going backwards and the jutsu couldn't reach him. It takes time for the moling and for the two handeals, which can give the opponent the idea that you are actually gonna perform a jutsu, which he then can think of a counter.

Advantages are that you can trap your opponent in it and not let him move. Also you can channel a Raiton jutsu to shock him while stuck in the water.
Disadvantages are that you can walk on that water if you channel chakra to your feet before getting caught in it. Also, not that fast, since it requires two handseals, and as we saw in the video, the opponent had time to react and move backwards, avoiding getting caught.

Right, so, I got to note one thing, you use nature manipulation when you are releasing chakra from your body rather then whilst it is in your body. This being said description of the performance should be something along the lines of;

''I quickly perform 3 hand seals, Rat->Dog->Ox , as I begin gathering chakra within my hand. I continue on gathering the chakra and once finished with performance of the hand seals I start to release it. I then begin releasing chakra whilst using nature manipulation as to generate water and shape manipulation forming a whip.''

Of course this is just an example of how it should be. You may use it as a referance but well I believe that you should be capable of wording it better in the future as we continue on with this training.

Ok, so when it comes to speed, I got to be honest with you. For the first technique, I'd say speed is fast to medium. You need to perform 3 hand seals and after that it is only nature and shape manipulation which don't really take that much of time.

When it comes to second, I'd say it is rather fast or well a little bit slower then fast but still falls under the category. It only requires two hand seals and after that usage of nature and shape manipulation.

Alright, let's get going with next two techniques of C rank.

Right so, this next technique is Water Clone. I am not sure if you learned clones in your ninjutsu training as I don't know how much you progressed in it. What I need for you to do however is perform a single hand seal, Tiger as you gather suiton chakra. Now once you do so release this chakra in your vicinity whilst using nature manipulation as to generate actual water and shape manipulation as to form this water into a exact replica of yourself. This clone that you just made should only be capable of traveling short range from you but can perform techniques of C rank and lower of water release. Once it has been hit with enough damage it should revert back to normal water leaving a smaller source.

Right for this next jutsu, upon focusing chakra within your body release it into the water source nearby. As you've done so, mold the chakra with the water before using nature and shape manipulation as to make water take drilling motion as you aim it towards the clone of mine which is currently standing on the water source. This technique is especially good during the fights on the water because you are capable of making an offense from anywhere around your opponent.

I perform the Tiger handseal and start gathering chakra throughout my body before releasing it into a nearby water source. I then manipulate my chakra that's infused with the water to form a clone from it. I keep control of the clone for him not to go too far since he may loose control.

About the speed of the performance, I'd say it's pretty quick. It only requires one handseal so it's basically a fast one.
I must say that this technique has more disadvantages that advantages. The main advantage is that it can be used to fool the enemy, but you must be closed for that, which is a disadvantage. And it can only use up to C-rank water techniques, not more ...

I start gathering chakra throughout my body before. Then I start releasing it into a nearby water source. While doing that, I use nature and shape manipulation, with the last one to give water the shape of drilling bullets which I command and send towards the direction of your clone who was standing on water.

Hmm, no handseals are needed so the performance is fast I think. Shape manipulation happens pretty fast so overall it's a fast jutsu, as seen in the video too.
Ok, so this is a nice offensive jutsu, since it can attack in a 360 degree range and it's quite powerful. But it's also short ranged and it cannot be performed without a water source ...

One of the advantage when it comes to water clone, is that if the reverts back to water you will be capable of using that as a smaller water source as to perform other techniques. When it comes to second technique, it's actually quite powerful because of it's drilling capability as well as speed in which it is performed. It's also quite good if you use another jutsu from front as a distraction in combination with this one. Your opponent will probably focus on the first jutsu as you quickly form this drill from behind him.

Right so, for the next technique the first thing I actually need for you to do is perform Hiddin Mist Jutsu. After you've done so, gather suiton chakra within your body before releasing it in the mist that you previously formed. Using nature and shape manipulation, reflect the light so that it blinds everything caught within the mist. To keep this jutsu active you will loose 3 chakra per turn.

Right so, this next technique actually can be used either as a C ranked or B ranked version and also it is capable of reaching Long range. What I need for you to do is firstly focus suiton chakra within your body as you clap your hands together. Once done with so, release the suiton chakra whilst using nature manipulation as to generate water and shape manipulation as to make the water take spiralling motion taking shape of a vortex. Once it has been made, it should proceed to cascade into the wave towards your target. This jutsu has both defensive and offensive capabilities.

Descripton: This technique allows the user after claping their hands together to make a spiralling vortex of water to form around them out of nowhere in a vortex like manner. The vortex then proceeds to cascade into an wave of water that rampages towards the intended target or all around. The size and power of the technique is dictated by the amount of chakra put into the technique, varying from C-rank to B-Rank.

Listening to senseis word, I start to perform the "Hidding in Mist Jutsu".
I begin gathering chakra in my mouth. I continue gathering chakra before I start changing my raw chakra into Suiton chakra, and once my Suiton chakra is moulded properly, I release it through my mouth in the form of a thick mist that covers the battle field by performing the Suiton jutsu (Kirigakure No Jutsu) - Hidding in Mist Jutsu. After finishing it, I again gathering chakra in my body once again. I then begin releasing the chakra into the mist that I previously created whilst using nature manipulation and shape manipulation to reflect the light so that it blinds everything caught within the mist. Doing so, the opponent is caught in the blinding light leaving him without the ability to see well due to the strong light.

So for the speed, If taken separately, this jutsu is fast. It doesn't need any handseals and you only need to release your chakra into the mist. The shape and nature manipulation happen quite fast too. If taken as two, I think it would take some time, since you firstly need to perform the "Hiding in mist Jutsu", which takes time on it's own and counts as two jutsus to perform.

As for advantages and disadvantages. Firstly, it is a good deceiving jutsu. It can be used escape from the battle while you blind the opponent, to perform another attack while he is blinded or to set up some trick. Also it doesn't require a lot of chakra, but if u keep it active it will take -3 chakra per turn, which is a disadvantage. The biggest disadvantage is that you needed Hiding in the Mist Jutsu to be active, so it can't work as a standalone jutsu. Also doesn't work on long range.

I gather chakra throughout my body before turning my raw chakra into Suiton chakra. I then clap my hands together and release my Suiton chakra from all around my body while manipulating my chakra and using nature transformation. At the same time I use shape manipulation to form a spinning vortex of water around me. I then manipulate my chakra to cause the vortex of water to cascade into a wave that moves quickly towards a training dummy found nearby, completely destroying it.

I think this jutsu is fast. Firstly, the hands clap happens very fast, and in the description is says that the user claps his hands and a vortex is formed immediately after that. What I think might take some times is the process of the formation of the vortex, but still, I think it falls under the fast category.

Hmm, so for the advantages and disadvantages : It doesn't require a water source, which is a great advantage. It can be used on the offensive nad defensive too. It can go up to long range and It can go up to B rank, which is pretty powerful and can cause some real damage. No handseals, only the clapping, which is pretty fast. The only disadvantages I can think is the amount of chakra it requires, and it's elemental weakness, when opposed to earth.

When it comes to forming the vortex around you, there are going to be few moments in which you will also unable yourself to see your opponent because of the water surrounding you. Which I'd also count as one of the disadvantages. Also when it comes to this being used as a defensive jutsu as well as offensive, what I was having in mind that if opponent sends an attack towards you (of course following elemental w&s) you could firstly envelop yourself with water before sending it to descend in form of a wave towards your target. Other then this everything seems fine! Nice job [=

Right so, I am sure you heard of the next technique we are learning. It's rain tiger at will technique. First of all gather suiton chakra within your body whilst perform hand seals, Bird → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Rat → Snake. Once finished with performance of hand seals you should release this suiton chakra in your surrounding as you accumulate clouds to gather up into the skies. By usage of nature and shape manipulation, from the cliuds the rain should start falling. Now this rain should allow you to detect presence of any foreign chakra in its reach. Furthermore this justu is especially good if you know element of Rain release as it allows you to perform jutsus for it.

Description: A perception ninjutsu, allowing one to freely manipulate rain infused with the user's own chakra after waving the Bird → Rat → Ox → Monkey → Rat → Snake hand seals. The rain falls from rain clouds, formed with the users own chakra. During this technique, the falling raindrops are closely linked to the users senses. When the rain is obstructed by a chakra belonging to someone the existence of the target can be detected. The rain will keep on falling until the user uses the seal to cancel it.

I am gonna try out something new. Tell me speed of performance as well as what's your opinion on this technique?



First, follow me to the water source as I want for you to use this next jutsu with utilisation of it. I am sure you know of this jutsu. Zabuza used it against Kakashi. So, what I want for you to do is perform hand seals Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare → Hands as you focus suiton chakra within you body. Once done with hand seals release the chakra into the water source nearby as you extend your hand forth. Then, mold the chakra with the water and using shape manipulation form a sphere with the hand you previously extended in it. Now although one of the ways to perform this jutsu is with the water source you can also expell water from your mouth and then use shape manipulation to form a sphere. The problem I find with this jutsu is that you will have to keep focus on it constantly and it can only be used in short range. Also because you will have to keep focus on it, I think it is best to use it if you have a clone of sorts near you. Albeit, we are going to learn similar but better version of this one once we reach B ranks!

(Suiton: Suirou No Jutsu) - Water Style: Water Prison

Description: This technique is used to trap a victim inside a virtually inescapable sphere of water by waving the Snake → Ram → Horse → Hare → Ram → Horse → Hare → Hands spread in front palms out. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep at least one arm inside the sphere at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. This technique requires a sufficient amount of water, which can be provided by expelling it from one's mouth. Once trapped the target is unable to move while within it due to the heaviness of the water. Because of the density of the water it can be used, to a limited extent, for defensive purposes if performed on oneself. Water clones can be used in preparation for the technique, which block an opponent's attack and trap the attacker in the prison using the clone's own water.

Same as for technique above, tell me your opinion on the technique as well as speed.

Hearing the Sensei's explanation, I quickly perform the Bird->Rat->Ox->Monkey->Rat->Snake hand seals and begin gathering chakra thoughout my body. I then begin releasing my chakra from my body into the surroundings and into the clouds. By usaging nature and shape manipulation, I manipulate the clouds and finally make it rain. By doing so, I am able to track the presence of anyone who is approaching and touched by the raindrops.

Okay, so, this technique is not fast. I think it falls under the category of slow jutsus. Firstly, the handseals, then spreading your chakra around and sending it to the clounds. Then using shape and nature manipulation to control the clouds then manipulate them to rain. Though I'm not clear how fast chakra travels, and I might consider it's speed as normal too ...

IMO, this jutsu is great when you are on a tracking missions, when you're hiding and want to know if someone followed you or when you want to know your surroundings. I think this is one of the most useful jutsus while traveling in the NW.

After hearing the Sensei, I follow her till we arrive at the water source. Firstly, I start by gathering chakra throughout my body and performing the Snake->Ram->Horse->Hare->Ram->Horse->Hare hand seals. Then I extend my left hand in front of me. I release my chakra into the water source and manipulate the water to form a sphere that traps everyone inside. While keeping focus on the techniques, I recall Sensei's word, saying that it's hard keeping track of the surroundings and jutsu at the same time, also, you can't move from since it's a short range streaming jutsu.

So, this jutsu IMO falls under the category of fast jutsus. Watching how Kakashi, a high skilled Ninja was unable to react to the speed of jutsu, obviously makes it a fast one. Though, there were some things that favored Zabuza like the chakra mixed water and him being a water specialist. But nonetheless, the shape and nature manipulation happened pretty fast, almost instantaneous.

IMO, this jutsu, as you said has many problems. Firstly the range and then the focus you need to maintain on it. Even though it can block someone in it, if there are dangers around you, then I guess you'd be having a hard time keeping track of the jutsu and keeping an eye around you. So this jutsu is more of a disadvantageous than an advantageous one.

Ok, before I continue on. Both jutsus require approximately same amount of hand seals as well as similar time of performance. However you say that rain tiger at will is slow to be performed whereas water prison is fast. <.<'' I'd honestly place both jutsus in catogory of slower medium speed. This is because of the preparation time that is needed, 6-7 hand seals for each.

This next jutsu is pretty useful. Anyhow it allows you to transform parts of your body into liquid. This will allow you to avoid direct damage as well as physical attacks aimed at you. However there is disadvantage to this jutsu and that is that you won't be capable of making an offense towards your opponent whilst in the form. So gather and channel suiton chakra throughout your body. As you do so with usage of nature and shape manipulation, tranform your body to the one of water.

Let's get onto next technique. This next technique can reach mid range and what I need for you to do as to perform is firstly actually make a sequence of 2 hand seals, Dragon → Tiger, whilst at the same time focusing suiton chakra within your body. Then release this chakra from your body whilst using nature and shape manipulation and forming large amount of water. Usually what is done, is by once again applying shape manipulation you should transform this water into a dragon which has a gaping mouth. The water that has been formed will stay stationary untill sent into an offense.

I guess this one doesn't need to much details.
I focus my chakra throughout my body before applying my Suiton affinity to it. After doing so, by manipulating my Suiton chakra, I chanage my body from its normal state into a state of water, using nature manipulation to firstly turn myself into water, and then shape manipulation to move the water body of mine.
The speed of this jutsu is fast. No handseals and it can be performed almost instantaneously. This is an overall good jutsu, making you escape physical attacks, but, as you said, you cannot take the offensive while using this technique.

I start focusing chakra throughout my body. Then I quickly perform the Dragon->Tiger hand seals. I add my Suiton affinity to my raw chakra, turning it into Suiton chakra. Once my chakra is properly molded, I release it from my body to the front of me and manipulate it to gather all the water around me. Once there is enough water, I send it towards my opponent and mid-way through the attack, I use shape manipulation to make the water form a dragon with a gaping mouth, which goes straight forward to the direction of the opponent.
Hmm, due to the size of the technique, I would consider it medium in speed. You also need time to keep the water stationary and wait for the exact moment when to send it in the offensive. My opinion on this one is that it's a good technique. It can also be used as a surprise attack, meaning that you keep the water stationary and send it in the offensive when you see it fit.
