Deep Lake

Zhouhua was renamed after the resulting crater and lake that formed when the destruction of Eanna caused a massive meteorite whose path ended there. At the bottom of the giant lake, ruins of old villages can be found. Those that lived in the region relocated south to safer regions where fauna still grew. It’s been rumored that this now deserted and barren land was where Konoe first encountered the Arali.

The two mercants continued toward Keishi.

They told their story and collected some gold. It was much less than last time.

We really need to make the story bigger.

How we're basically calling Takauji a god, and Sado a demon.

What do we have left?

The woman.

What do you mean?

She needs to be like an angel from heaven. A perfect soul.

A voice for her people and a savoir for Sado's.

Alright fine. We'll fix the story before we get to Keishi.

But I think making her perfect dehumanizes her.

And calling Takauji a god, and Sado a demon doesn't dehumanize them?

Well that's different. Sado is dead anyway.

The story continued to spread throughout the lands as more people began sharing the story.

The two merchants were walking through the land of Zhouhua. The two were having a spirited debate about how to take the story they were working on. One believed they needed to focus on the warrior woman who took out the brute. The other wanted to focus more on the plot. Together they walked rather slowly through the land at first talking back and forth.

So, you think she should have angel wings?

Yeah, and big breasts.

I still don't see how that effects the story.

It adds a certain air of mystery.

Her big breasts, adds mystery?

What happened to the story dehumanizing her too much?

They were too caught up in their debate that they didn't see a wolf stalking them

AWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Oh shit.
Oh shit.
Oh shit.
Oh shit.
Oh shit.
Oh shit.

They both darted forward rushing to Keishi with haste trying to leave as soon as they could.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
Fight an individual of comparable strength ( 3 )
Custom: Defend the helpless ( 3 )

Summary: Wanted to do something new. I haven't tried out the "fighting" missions yet and was traveling through lands with aggressive Inuzuka and ninken. I figured it would be a cool story element to have them be attacked and for Lorelei the NPC to need to deal with her place in the world. Also the clone who had a similar place in the world mainly as just another "tool" to try and make everything better for her or at least comfort her after a traumatic event.

Lorelei and Smith moved forward away from the decimated land and buildings they found in the previous area. Lorelei was seemingly exhausted, they had traveled a far distance in a day more than a normal person should be able to. She had been pushing herself harder than she should have and as the two moved forward she had to stop for a moment to catch her breath.
In that moment of weakness Smith could sense something approaching two things actually from the dense forest to the south they were just faint signatures that were moving in their direction. Listening he heard nothing, but that sensation was distinct and he realized that the danger was paramount. His only objective was to protect this woman at all costs. Instinctively with his right arm he reached outward grabbing Lorelei's left arm and pushed her back a bit so that she was behind him.
She almost fell to the ground with the amount of force he used, he didn't realize she wasn't prepared for this and that the momentum almost threw her off of her balance. HEY! What are you doing!? She yelled, unaware of the impending danger the two were in. Smith merely shushed her and took a step forward in front of her he spoke some advice. Shhh, if I should fall here. You run. He focused toward the two incoming chakra signatures trying to make a mental map of their position as in the distance he now heard two distinct growls getting closer.

He looked more serious as two wolf-like ninken rushed out from the forest toward him one was pure white with a large bushy mane and the other a sleek black wolf-dog both were about two-thirds the size of Smith at least four feet in height and they looked stocky at least one hundred and twenty pounds each. The two jumped forward about ten meters away from Smith and collided together creating one large double-headed canine that landed in front of Smith snapping out with their two powerful jaws. Lorelei screamed out in terror.

(Jinjū Konbi Henge: Sōtōrō ) - Human Beast Combination Transformation: Double-Headed Wolf
Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: A Combination Transformation where man and beast become a single entity. It is a specialty of the Inuzuka clan, a clan that has been walking side by side with ninken for generations. They coalesce into a bicephalous wolf, thus drastically increasing their power. In their direct attacks, they demonstrate great efficiency. Furthermore, using techniques in addition to this gives birth to an extraordinary power of destruction.
NOTE:Must be a member of the Inuzuka Clan.
(Ookami Taiga) -Wolf River
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 60
Description: After performing transforming in a two headed wolf, The user and and their dog leap forward and bite the enemy with both wolf heads.
Note: Requires dog companion and be a member of the Inuzuka clan.

As they began to move toward Smith and Lorelei leaping together to form one massive two headed canine Smith surrounded himself in a protective cushion of natural energy. As the two heads snapped out trying to bite him he lifted his right arm upward placing the forearm firmly in the left head's mouth as it bit down. It's teeth and jaw would be met with the natural energy negating the offensive holding the bite at bay long enough for Smith to extend his left hand in a one-inch punch like motion.
The second knuckle on his left hand would be extended as he used kinematic chaining to start the punch at his right foot pushing upward through his legs and turning his hip and chest sideways creating a massive set of three one-knuckle shots to the throat of the beast that had his right arm in it's maw. Smith was breathing heavily, spittle was forming at the corners of his mouth as his barbarian-like rage began to take hold of him. If the Inuzuka and ninken continued to push him he would kill them.
This would effectively catch the Inuzuka and his beast off guard as they wouldn't be able to perceive the protective shell thus seeing a bite make contact with the arm. However this was the only way Smith thought of to both negate the damage and survive as he was a clone thus any amount of damage that got through to him would disperse him. As the knuckle hit the beast's throat in three very quick one-inch punch like motions the creature would reel back in pain yelping like a wounded animal as it would spit up blood releasing Smith's arm from the gaping maw.

(Forgotton-ō no shukufuku) - Blessing of Forgotton Kings
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 30
Damage: N/A (+20 to another entity's technique)
Description: This technique is in essence a defensive technique but can be used to increase the power of others techniques as well. It is based heavily around the Sage Transformation ability to imbue upon another being Natural Energy albeit a small, safe fraction of the user's total power. This Natural Energy does not combine with the allies' chakra flow, and only surrounds their body momentarily being taken out either by an incoming attack that makes contact with the Natural Energy or the release of a technique moving from around the allies body and onto the technique imbuing it with a layer of Natural Energy.

To activate this technique a Jugo clan member must make physical contact with another creature while under the affects of a partial transformation (if not already under the effects of a transformation this technique can instigate one) and through that contact infuse them with an unseen aura of Natural Energy encasing them in a protective cushion that will not in any way impede their movement. During this process the user needs to make contact with the ally and sustain contact during the molding of chakra, or until the aura is negated. It can also be used on summoning creatures to increase their durability and can be done in the same timeframe as a summoning technique as long as the user is making contact with the creatures. This process is very similar to the one Jugo performed to remove the Zetsu spores from Sasuke's body and also when he imbued upon Sasuke's Susanoo the power of Natural Energy.

Note: Can only be used thrice per battle.
Note: The defensive ability can be used on the user, but not the boosting ability.
Note: Aura lasts until released by use of a technique or the user and cannot be controlled by the ally.
Note: The aura can defend from A-rank elemental techniques of any nature, Natural Energy or Senjutsu.
Note: The aura can defend from S-rank raw chakra techniques or similar including weapon based ninjutsu and most forms of taijutsu including S-rank.
Note: Courtesy of Howard
( Hitonare Za Tora ) - Taming the Tiger
Type: Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 80 + 20 ( SM ) = 100
Description: A technique that focuses on overwhelming power and precision. Through careful breathing this technique allows the user to deliver several one knuckle punches in quick succession, each and every one striking the exact same spot on the target with devastating effect. This attack is capable of breaking through most conventional defenses.

I don't want to fight you. I'm merely defending the woman. If you come at me a second time I will kill you.

Smith spoke in a cold, viscous tone one of apathy and indifference. However there would be a slight upward inflection like a person who was asking for them to come at him. He seemed like he was having fun like he wanted to kill them, and that he was just waiting on a reason to do it to justify it. As Lorelei saw the bite make contact she screamed in fear a second time she was too lost in fear to notice the malicious gleam in Smith's eyes it was the look of someone who enjoyed hurting others. She fell backward landing on her ass as she tried to crawl away dragging herself away before turning, partially standing up and running roughly five meters away from the two turning to look back. She didn't know how to respond. She was told to run if there was danger so she did just that with tears in her eyes it was even reiterated to her by Smith a second time just moments ago.
As Smith threatened the Inuzuka and his ninken the combined form backed away a few feet gaining a bit of distance both heads growling and scowling at the man moving in a semi-circle. They seemed injured but too prideful and stubborn to walk away from such a fight to them this was their territory and they would defend it to the death. Lorelei would yell out again this time with actual words in a desperate plea for them to stop. Please! We're just passing through. We mean no harm!
She was trying to help in whatever way she could but it wasn't working. She was just being a distraction to Smith and the Inuzuka picked up on that. He would attack again when the man was distracted and with the intent to kill. He was too slow to pick up on the fact that Smith would just keep turning his direct offenses into his own offenses. As the woman called out the canine looked directly toward Smith watching his head, neck and chest.

Smith turned his head slightly toward her unsure why she was calling out but this motion had an ulterior motive as Smith picked up on how the two heads were watching him and waiting for an opening. In that moment the massive two-headed dog rushed forward again leaping again toward Smith. He lorded over Smith and the battlefield with his decent height, stature and weight. Smith missed his height at this point he would be nearly twice this combined form's size if he was his normal goliath stature. The combined form went in to attack Smith again this time when he seemed distracted. Smith's eyebrows furrowed as his head turned again to face the combined form. A sly grin eked up his face, he couldn't help himself-... it was a feint and they fell into the trap. As the dog snapped outward again with his right head Smith was prepared. They were using the same offensive which was predictable. However Smith's next action would be unpredictable, different than the last and deadly.

(Ookami Taiga) - Wolf River
Rank: A
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 60
Description: After performing transforming in a two headed wolf, The user and and their dog leap forward and bite the enemy with both wolf heads.
Note: Requires dog companion and be a member of the Inuzuka clan.

He lifted his left arm channeling poison chakra into and through it as he extended his left hand upward his arm literally moving forward slightly. It seemed to move forward as the canine bit forward literally biting off whatever transformation Smith was extending from his arm and hand. It was poison, he had converted his left hand and forearm into poison and extended it forward slightly so that when the dog bit him a second time he merely got a mouthful of sticky, sickly, tar-like poison. The sticky nature of it basically bound the right mouth shut as the canine tried to open it's mouth and rid themselves of the poison. However the effects would be nearly instantaneous upon consumption. Lorelei yelled again.

(Dokuton: Doku no ki, Kalaipahoa) - Poison Ninjutsu: Kalaipahoa, the Tree of Poison
Type: Defensive/Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60 ( when used to attack )
Description: A poison user concentrates poison chakra all throughout their body or into a specific part of their body and by using this poison chakra they can turn portions of their body into poison. If a technique or an attack strikes this form with the potential to strike them directly depending on it's strengths and weaknesses some techniques can be completely negated while others can be partially negated. This is because not only does the user literally turn their body to poison they proliferate this poison creating an additional buffer of poison allowing the "body of poison" to take on far more damage than the users natural body. This costs a move and the user can temporarily become poison for at maximum three turns before reverting to normal. This ability can only be used once every other turn and if used to negate damage the user reverts to normal upon taking enough damage to take out the poison. Due to this the user can defend against something that would naturally harm them negating the damage of an attack with the strength of an A rank or below for things neutral to the form of poison the body is converted into. Alternatively it can negate an S rank technique of something that form of poison is strong to.
The whole body can be converted to poison but to do so the user must perform a single hand seal. If instead they only turn a portion of their body to poison they are able to do so without a seal. Whole limbs, or portions of the body such as the head, neck, shoulders, stomach, fingers or chest can be converted to poison relatively easily. However as mentioned above the form of the poison dictates it's strengths and weaknesses. While this technique is primarily a defensive technique it can be used offensively by for example turning an arm to poison and grappling an opponent. Limbs converted to poison can be extended up to mid range away and can be destroyed without harming the user because as mentioned above it is not their natural body but instead poison proliferated from the poison they converted their body into.
Notes:
- Can be used three times per battle with transformations lasting for three turns at max
- Can be used once per turn with a two turn cool down
Don't kill each other!

The combined form would feel fear to an almost crippling degree as the other head yelped out in combined fear. The two turned and tried to dart back toward the forest severely damage and now poisoned comically knocking their heads together as for a second they tried to bolt in different directions. While they began to run Smith formed a single hand seal as multiple water mosquitoes formed around the combined form. Lorelei had snapped him out of his momentary lapse in judgement he was too lost to his heritage to realize that he literally almost killed these two.
However they were too lost to fear and terror as the swarm began to jab into their flesh extracting the poison and nullifying the rest the combined formed fell and passed out at the tree-line as it dispersed back into a Inuzuka and his ninken. Both would be left barely alive, but alive none the less as Smith walked into short range for a moment and performed the diagnosis skill. They would wake up in like an hour with a severe headache but would be fine due to the nullified poison. He walked up to Lorelei lifting his left arm and wiping the slobber from his mouth.

( Iryō Suiton: Suika ) - Medical Water Style: Water Mosquito
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 30
Damage: N/A ( -20 damage as the poison is removed )
Description: After using the Tiger seal, the user creates water mosquitoes, that can be used to nullify poison in a target's body. Designed specifically to suck out poison, the user is unable to use anything else while concentrating on the target. Despite being a healing jutsu, the several mosquitoes cause pain to the body as it heals it. This jutsu is capable of removing and countering up to 50 damage done by poison.
Note: Can only be used 1 time per target.
I'm sorry you had to see that.

She was at a loss for words. This was the first time she had seen the man fight. She didn't notice the feral gleam in his eyes earlier if she had this may have been a different conversation all together. He seemed to return to his normal demeanor at least the facade he had shown her up until now. The two began to continue their journey toward Keishi in relative silence. Lorelei didn't know how to respond thus she didn't.

They had almost made it to Keishi when she finally spoke up. Her voice was confused and saddened. After thinking it over for a while she realized that the entire world was messed up. There was no black and white like she thought before she thought Takauji the hero, then she thought Jack was the hero-... now she didn't know what to think. The world was violent and insidious.
There were no heroes just a wash of gray areas, men and women fighting over lands some protecting others, others merely out for the thrill of battle, others wanting fame, fortune and ryo. It was a depressing revelation for her. She didn't know how to process that information. She wanted the world to be a happy place, instead it seemed to be growing more and more violent as each day passed. She remembered the way that she was treated initially by Trunks-... Jack seemed like the only person she had met so far that cared about the regular people over other shinobi.

I-... I don't know what's right anymore. They were just defending their home-... weren't they?

But we didn't do anything wrong-... we were just walking to Keishi.

Smith replied in a somewhat stoic tone remembering back to something he saw a while back in the lands below Kushasogen. He lifted his left hand and placed it upon the back of his neck as he seemed to fumble over a way to explain it. It was hard. Due to his upbringing in relative solitude away from the civilized world he knew very little about it. He was learning about it and was almost as oblivious to it as she was but she needed words to bring her through that event. It was traumatic for her it seemed. It was aberrant, something she wasn't used to seeing.

The world All we can do is protect those we care about. We can extend a hand to offer aid-... but it's up to the other person to accept that aid. If they don't want it you can't force it upon them. That's just tyranny to force your will upon the world around you. I'm trying-... Jack is trying to do the right thing but it's hard to know what that is.

As he spoke he realized he was a clone and changed what he was saying mid sentence.

Lorelei listened and picked up on the way Smith spoke. She seemed to calm down a bit more as she realized that everyone was dealing with the same problems. The world was ferocious and all anyone could do was try their best to endure and survive and provide others with enough comfort for them to make it through. She spoke again with the same tone as earlier but a little more resolute. She didn't seem to fumble over her words this time.

Heh it's funny. I said I wanted to be the hand reaching out to help others but I can't even help myself.

She seemed saddened as she said that. She was doing what she could but for her it felt like very little. She was trying her best she had pushed herself all day to make it this far and in her mind all she did was endanger them by needing a rest. Smith, and Jack and all the rest of the shinobi seemed so strong, they could do things she couldn't, they could protect. What could she do? So far all she did was write down and document landmasses and people she saw along the way. She felt like she was useless and after a long pause of silence Smith picked up on that feeling of uselessness it was a deep sensation of dread that caused an immense amount of tension.

What's wrong now?

Smith said. His tone was softer than usual but the words that came out seemed harsh in their usage.

I-... what am I doing for you? Just documenting stuff you could know on your own?

Smith sighed. Dealing with humans was hard they were needy, and consistently underestimating their worth.

You're taking weight off of Jack's shoulders. He's going to know I said this when I disperse so I hope you're happy. He's putting the hopes and dreams of all of those people you saw back there and even you on his shoulders. He wants them and you to be happy even if he won't admit it to himself. He-... we've been through some serious stuff in our past. You picked up on it and I'll let him tell you if he feels like he needs to but it's changed us on a fundamental level. Jack will keep putting more and more weight onto his shoulders until it crushes us, he doesn't want to see that right now but subconsciously he knows. He's too busy focusing on people like you to realize that one day all that weight, all that responsibility is going to get us killed. I've tried showing him that but he's dense, thick and stubborn. Eventually he's going to piss the wrong person off and start something bigger than what he can deal with alone. That's all I can say. You're doing good, in your own way it just takes time to build up.

Lorelei seemed content with that answer as her meek posture seemed to straighten up slightly.

Even if she was weak maybe she could do something beneficial for the big picture.

- Coming from Landmark 122 -

Medivh had traversed the landscape, making his way through the forests, with little to no daylight coming through the branches above. The rocks, bushes and the thick forestation found on the bottom of the forest made it difficult for him to travel unnoticed. Having hidden his elven blades beneath his robes, and the satchel on his back as well as his hood hiding his presence, he continued on. Finding a wooden branch he could use as a walking stick, he continued onwards.

As he made his way through the lands, he witnessed the ruins of Kokkyō, the rubble and the metal were spread across the landscape, a vast battle had taken place here most likely. However Medivh had no memory of this. Continuing onward, paying no attention to the ruins of the fortress, he came across a large lake. Deciding to take a break, he walked down the hill to the lake and sat down by the side of it. Here he sat for an hour or so, just relaxing and eating some lembas bread, bread made in a unique elvish manner, quite delicious. After finishing his meal and waiting about an hour, he thought it would be refreshing to take a dive in the lake. Quickly undressing down to his trousers, he jumped into the water, and swam around cooling down, just floating around in it like a corpse. A rather odd thought came into his mind, so why not try it, he breathed in as much as he could and just dived straight down, he wanted to see if he could reach the bottom and return back without loosing his breath. Diving down into the dark depths of the lake, the light quickly faded into black, however his elvish eyes were able to see in the dark rather easily. He thought the darkness and the lake would be more pleasant, but the darkness and the unknown, and the nothing was actually creeping him out, not because of the cold water or him being afraid of the animals in the water really, it was all his imagination running wild, so rather than reaching the bottom his mind sort of panicked and before long he found himself reaching the surface of the water. Breathing in heavily he swam to the shore, to find his clothe and get dressed.

After a refreshing dive, he gathered his things and continued onwards into the forests towards his destination, there were really not much to see, he avoided the villages and anything man made, he wanted to go unnoticed.

- Leaving Landmark towards 41 -
Coming from the deep forests, he came into a less forestated area. He had not traveled for many moons, so his memory of this place was rather small. As he moved through the forest area, he tried to move unnoticed, and sometimes he thought his mind was playing games with him, he thought he heard footsteps, he thought he heard branches breaking and he was almost sure he was being followed. There was no need to fear anything, of course he thought everything would be fine as long as he continued onward. After walking for several hours he thought he could see the end of the forest and a more clear area filled with tall grass, but before he could reach the end of it he heard a howl coming from behind him, he knew it was a wolf.

Turning around to face the animal, he saw a large grey wolf. It was larger than he expected, way larger in fact. He was unsure of what to do against the animal, he couldn't walk away, neither could he just kill it, could he?. The situation was difficult, he knew nothing of the land, he did not know if there were more wolves in the area, and the blood of another wolf would definately draw their attention. He had to make a decision on what to do. He decided to avoid fighting, by quickly crawling up into a nearby tree, hiding between the leaves. The wolf would most likely lose interest after a while.

Medivh ended up sitting in the tree for several hours, the light of the sun was gone, the night sky was lit by the stars above, the moon was nowhere to be seen. He could not hear the wolf, in fact, he had not heard it for quite some time. To be safe, he decided stay in the tree over night. As he fell asleep he came into a dream. It was a terrible dream for him, a dream that was the kind that made you question your decisions. The dream was short, as he awoke quickly, after dreaming about his possible life in the village with Abigail. As he awoke, he sat up sweating.

Wiping away the sweat from his face, he bit his thumb and performed the summoning technique. This summoned a small diving toad in front of him. It just looked at him confused in the tree.

"Sorry to summon you, I just want to be safe that I am not being followed by wolves or any other prey, you can get me safely ton this area?"

The toad looked at the map Medivh was holding out, it simply nodded and opened its mouth. What came next would look absolutely comical. Medivh would be absorbed into the toads stomach through its mouth, and for any normal person that would definately freak them out. Afterwards, the toad quickly jumped and crawled down the tree and into the tall grass, where it would travel unseen through the terrain, a regular toad would definately not arise any suspicion.

Continuing south, with visions of poverty and desperation fresh in his mind, Shayde was happy to see that the forests were slowly but surely disappearing, showing an indication that he was indeed heading in the right direction. As he walked through roaming green hills, with sheep frolicking off in the distance, it stood to reason that this just one small part of some expansive farm. Shayde decided that, since this was no doubt private property, it would be best for him to get through this land as quickly as possible. He didn't want to be on the business end of some strung out, rural laborer's double barrel after all. On his way out of the land, he came face to face with the most adorable wolf, snarling and growling at him with every fiber of it's being. Shayde felt summoning one of his canine companions for a little "play date", but before he could even prepare some Chakra, his right arm molded itself into a giant, terrifying maw, that roared back at the wild animal, with all the vigor and decibel count of a Tailed Beast. As the wolf ran, terrified, Shayde watched his arm return to normal, stating; "That wasn't very nice... Don't make a habit out of it." He couldn't be certain if it was intended to be playful or dismissive, but Shayde heard a loud chuckling echo throughout his head. As the two continued on their way, Shayde found solace in the fact that Greed had learned the simplistic aspects of the concept of comedy...

Even with the thick trees of the forest almost blocking the night sky, the light emanating from the northeast didn't escape Kōtetsu's notice. The world had been in chaos lately, and he could sense it. They could sense it, but neither he nor his kind had ever thought of or concerned themselves with interfering in human affairs, for they had learned the hard way how vile men could be.

But this time was different. The Inuzuka's tails brushed across his cheek as if to catch his attention, and the Ninken to his side looked impatient. It was time for them to move. He sighed, ran his hand through his hair, and began heading to Northeast

Summary: Upon his return to Zhouhua for the first time in months, Kōtetsu is attacked by a pack of wolves. He uses this opportunity to regain his battle sense and ability to skillfully maneuver through the forest by fighting them unarmed and without the aid of ninjutsu or his Ninken. After fending off the wolves he comes across a strange campsite and finds a large part of the forest burned.

After spending months on the barren and rocky terrain of the Lightning Mountains, the noise of the animals and the shade from the canopy of the trees was a much-needed change. The Inuzuka was glad to be back in his element, but despite his mood, he couldn't help but feel that something was off. It was the sort of nagging feeling people sometimes got in the back of their minds but could never quite understand what it was about. Because of this, he paid little heed to his intuition and instead focused on taking in the scenery as the moved deeper into the forest. Having been gone for so long had taken a bigger toll on him than expected. Whereas he could once silently and effortlessly across the rugged terrain, he now noisily bumbled about. He snapped twigs with every step, broke most of the branches he passed, and regularly tripped on roots. He was like a child who had only just entered the forest for the first time and knew for a fact that would draw unwanted attention.

"...Are you going to handle that, or should I?" Asked Fūjin, who had been silently walking by his partner's side. Unlike Kōtetsu, the ninken had no issue moving gracefully across the wooded surface. It was like second nature to him. By that he meant the pack of six wolves that had been attracted the commotion the Inuzuka had been making and started following them some time ago. He knew all too well how acute the senses of the wild animals were, but he had confidence in his enhanced senses. Kōtetsu had picked up their scent long before they caught him, and he could hear them even though they were silently closing in.

"No...I'll deal with them. I need to get used to moving in this environment again." Fūjin seemed pleased with the response he was given and lept into the nearest tree, settling himself down on the largest branch he could find to support his body. The Inuzuka, on the other hand, began to prepare for the coming encounter. He removed his overcoat and folded it neatly, placing it at the base of the tree his ninken sat in. He then loosened his chokutō from its holster and placed it on top of the coat. By the time he'd finished doing this, the wolves had gotten much closer, which meant that it would be impossible for me to scare them off. They were intent on attacking, but the Inuzuka clan held wolves and other canines in high regard, so he would have to avoid killing them. "Would it be possible to try scaring them away?" He asked in a last-ditch effort to avoid confronting them.

Fūjin sighed and raised his head to the sky and howled a warning. Stay away. He waiting a few moments but the wolves didn't howl back. They had ignored the warning. "Doesn't seem like it. They smell bad. It might have something to do with that." Kōtetsu had smelled it on them too, and while he wasn't sure what the bad smell was he knew he would soon find out. Since he couldn't kill them, he would be forced to limit himself to physical attacks that would incapacitate the wolves, which would be challenging given how clumsy his movement on the terrain currently was. Regardless, he would have to endure. The pack came out of the threes five meters in front of where the Inuzuka stood.

He quickly scanned the group as he settled into a fighting stance, and immediately identified the leader of the pack. It was a large grey wolf with a scar across the bridge of its nose and stood behind the others. With a bark, he signaled for the attack to begin, and the wolf closest to the Inuzuka lunged toward him with its fangs bared. Two of the other wolves moved in an arc to his sides as the first lept towards him. He leaned back out of reach of the wolf's claws and fangs and delivered an upper to its chin, sending it flying back towards the pack leader who leaped out of the way. After executing the uppercut, Kōtetsu leapt to the wolf on his right side, twisting his body while in the air in order to face it, and performed a downward hammer fist that connected with the wolf's head and caused it to slam into the ground. He landed and spun on his heel to face the other wolf that would have been behind him. It was close and moving too fast for him to defend himself in time, so he rolled to his right, narrowly avoiding a flurry of teeth and claws. He sprung to his feet and moved and started for the wolf that had just attacked him, only to trip and fall onto his face.

"Hahahahahahahah!!" Fūjin's laughter could be heard throughout the forest. Embarrassed, Kōtetsu got up and returned to his stance. His blunder had allowed the wolves to regain their composer, and now the leader stepped in front of him as the other five surrounded him. They were going for the kill. They all attacked him simultaneously from every direction, forcing the Inuzuka to perceive them as an actual threat for the first time since he caught their scent. He rapidly rotated his body in place, appearing as an upright vortex that forcefully repelled each of the wolves as they made contact with it, sending them slamming into trees and the forest floor.

Ōkami Kan'nomai | Dance of the Wolf God
Type: Supplementary/Defensive/Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Self
Chakra: (N/A) 30 if used with chakra
Damage: (20) 60 if used with chakra
Description: Employing the use of Gatsuuga concepts, this technique allows for an Inuzuka or Ninken to rapidly spin horizontally or vertically. Unlike the Gatsuuga and Gatenga variants however, this technique is designed for the user to spin across the ground. Inuzuka users tend to spin across a vertical axis, doing so at such speeds that they appear to be an upright vortex that is capable of rapidly traversing across the ground. Ninken tend to spin across a horizontal axis, essentially rolling across the grounds at high speeds like a buzz saw wheel, with both being capable of tearing through enemies and lesser structures. This movement can be done without the use of chakra, in which case the user will be limited to traversing across the ground at speeds only slightly greater than their top running speed, or facilitated through chakra, in which case the user will be capable of traversing across the ground at speeds significantly greater than that of their running speeds as the use of centrifugal force assists in the users directional movement. Ninken will be capable of going up to twice as fast as rolling across the ground puts the generated force to better use (Increased traction, large surface area, etc), while Inuzuka that uses a vertical spin will be limited to 1.5x their speed. Additionally, the user can transition directly into a Gatsuuga or Gatenga variant through the use of this technique, granting the chained Gatsuuga/Gatenga an additional rank.
Note:
- Chakra empowered usages can only be used 4x.
- If used with chakra, -10 chakra per turn if sustained.
Excessive usage of this technique may induce vertigo, as such if used for three turns in a row then an Inuzuka user will experience vertigo that will prevent efficient usage of A rank and above Taijutsu (Reduces their power to B rank)
- When used with Chakra, the created force will be so great that the user will be capable of tearing through or dispersing B rank and below attacks (The movement generated violent air pressure much like other Gatsuuga variants), while A rank and below will neutralize their momentum. A layer of chakra is also created around the user to prevent any adverse effects while doing so.
He stopped spinning and watched as they struggled to rise to their feet. He could see the fire in their eyes. They were hungry and injured, but if he could give them one more push then they'd be gone. Kōtetsu sighed. He didn't have a choice. After breathing in, he glared at the lead wolf and allowed his killing intent to radiate outwards to it and the rest of the wolves. The shrunk back, whimpering as the overwhelming pressure of his strength engulfed them. Trembling and frozen by fear, the animal raced off into the forest, their whines and yelps carried by the wind. with the wolves gone he breathed a sigh of relief and moved over to his sword and overcoat. As he put them back on Fūjin leaped from the tree sniffed the air. He gave a nod to say that they were actually gone, but still looked somewhat perplexed.

(Sakki) - Killing Intent
Rank: D - S (C)
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: N/A
Description: Killing Intent pertains to the ability of the user giving off their pure killing intention and having it affect their opponent and others around them up to the point of paralyzing them. When the Killing Intent is particularly strong, it can even give the victim visions of their own gruesome death, nausea, pain, etc. This can cause the Killing Intent to be confused with a genjutsu, despite not being a genjutsu at all; simply a showcase of intention and power. The target will feel as if facing an overwhelming enemy and, even if not a sensor, will suddenly feel the pressure of the users chakra and its magnitude, making the effect that much more dramatic. To effectively be used, the user needs to focus on his target and concentrate on the killing intent towards it, meaning that one must see the target and be focused on it. The strength of the Killing Intent is dependent on many factors and go through several levels. If a difference in rank smaller than 2 ranks exist, the enemy will feel only the pressure and the ominous presence of their dark intentions. Its enough to lose your grasp on a weapon or stay clinched to it (depending on the situation) or even to hesitate in an attack, stumble or mess up a handseal, all depending on the situation and proximity. The effect is small and normally not that significant but can be effectively used to pressure enemies into making a mistake. If a difference of 2 ranks or more exist, the enemy will be frozen, almost unable to move as the overwhelming killing intent dominates their own conscious and riddles them with nightmarish versions of death. The paralyzation gradually weakens as time passes and can only be maintained while the user is focused on the target. The further away the target, the weaker it is and it can only fully paralyze a target within short range. Similarly, the more targets one focuses on, the weaker the effect is in each one (divinding the effects equally between the number of targets). Lastly, the stronger the user is in relation to the target, the stronger the effect will be. The target can counter Killing Intent directed at it through pain, "mind cleansing" techniques or their own Killing Intent.
Note: Intensity of technique depends on the rank of the user, distance to target and number of targets one is focusing on
Note: Can only be used once
Note: Lasts only while the user is focusing on it and while focusing on it the user can't mold chakra
"The forest...It's burning." He sounded alarmed, which prompted the Inuzuka to tap into his senses too. He could smell it. Without wasting any time he hopped onto the ninkens back, and the two rushed towards the source of the smell. They covered a vast distance thanks to Fūjin's speed, and the longer he ran the more intense the odor became. Soon they could see smoke rising from the horizon. Before long they reached their destination. A large section of the forest was smoldering. Animals, trees, and even the ground had been scorched black. a place that was once teeming with life, was now a desolate ruing. The two investigated the wreckage but found nothing, and before long they had reached the opposite side of the burnt forest. It was here that the Inuzuka picked up a smell different from the smoke, and he followed it cautiously. He couldn't hear or smell anything dangerous, but he still remained alert. After a short walk, he found it, an abandoned campsite large enough for about four to five people. placed his hands the remains of what he assumed to be a campfire, but the burnt wood was cold, meaning that more than a day had passed since whoever set the fire left.

He continued to explore the campsite, looking for anything he could find until he eventually came across a piece of cloth. Bingo. He brought it up to his nose and took a whiff of it. A wave of anger washed over him as the scent he identified confirmed his suspicions. He tossed the cloth to Fūjin for him to smell as well, and he too began to seeth with anger. Kōtetsu once again mounted the ninken, and the two disappeared into the deep forest in pursuit of the scent. The scent that reeked of Humans.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
- Hear rumors about the virus origins (1)
- Take measures to avoid further infection (1)

Summary: Kōtetsu catches up to the men who set fire to the forest. After hearing the reason they did it and learning about the rumors of a mysterious virus and it's origins, he quickly disposes of them the avoid further infection. Additionally, he sends his ninken to hunt down the wolves they had encountered earlier and dispose of them.

Kōtetsu had started to feel unwell as the chased the scent of the men who burnt the forest. He didn't know what it was, but something had sapped his strength and made him sluggish. In addition to an aching head, he smelt something mixed in with his own scent. A kind of rottenness that he couldn't put into word. Even worse was the fact that the same smell was coming from his ninken as well. He wondered if this was the badness that Fūjin had caught form the wolves he had fought before and if they had somehow passed it to him. For now, he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind as they came closer to the men who owned the rag. He could see, smell, and hear them long before they could notice him, but he still decided to move with caution instead of immediately attacking them. He wanted answers. He needed to know why they had committed such an atrocity against their sacred forest.

The silent movement of his ninken allowed him to get so close to them that he could have easily dispatched all four men without them even knowing how they died, but he abandoned the element of surprise and opted to make his presence known as he rested his hand on the hilt of his chokutō. "Trespassers...You shouldn't be here!" The Inuzuka's words were vicious, and his voice full of disdain. The men, taken off guard and surprised by his sudden appearance, jumped and turned to face him. One of them was so frightened that he tripped and fell. "A-A-An Inuzuka!" Gasped another, his voice trembling. The remaining two were quick to recover and drew their weapons in response. It was common knowledge to most that outsiders who set foot in Zhouhua were usually disposed of, never to be heard from again, and these people knew it. So why then, would they risk their lives like this?

"You burned the forest. Why?" He glared down at them with his poisonous crimson eyes and drew Kusanagi from its sheath, revealing the inky black Hangurian ore forged steel blade that howled against the scabbard. The men recovered and the rest turned to face him with their own weapons drawn. They stood in silence for a few moments before one stepped forward to speak. "Our companion, he was sick..." The man explained how a second outbreak Red Fever had spread throughout the world, infecting scores of people throughout the world, and while it wasn't threatening to most, they were still asymptomatic. It was at this point that another of the group chimed in. He spoke of the rumors he had heard coming out of the region in the vicinity of the Hokubo Ocean that the heroes who had fought against the Primordial Mother or been exposed to the black substance known as the Sea Of Life had not only been affected even more severely but could pass it on to anyone they touched.

Kōtetsu remembered her, and the inky black substance that she used to turn the living into abominations. Tiamat. The Primordial Mother, Goddess of Life and Creation, and the woman who he'd fought against alongside his ninken and a few others. The last time he'd see her after he transformation, he'd been shaken to his core by her appearance. Thankfully, his companions had managed to reseal her into the void, but this...virus was the one last gift she had left behind, especially for the ones who had stood against her. The Inuzuka processed the information he had been given. He now understood why he had been feeling the way he had, and a look a dread feel over his face. Since he could pass on the virus by touch, then the wolves he had spared the day before were now infected. "Fuu! The wolves!" His voice was full of worry as he dismounted. "I know! I'll dispose of them." Fūjin immediately understood the weight of the situation and took off running in the direction they had come form. He had remembered their scent and would find them in no time.

After the ninken had left, the men continued their explanation and told him of how their fifth companion had fallen ill on their travels, and in their haste to return to Tsumigakure they had taken a detour through Zhouhua. Along their journey, the man had become delusional, seeing things that weren't there and lashing out at nothing. In their attempt to calm him, he attacked them and sustained injuries that led to his demise, and since the man's blood had spilled throughout the forest, they burned it along with his body to avoid spreading the infection. The Inuzuka now understood why the trespassers had burned forest, and while thankfully, he was still unable to let them go. If they had never crossed their borders, this situation could have been avoided, and he had his own rules that he had to follow. He returned Kusanagi to its sheath and turned his back to the men as if to let them go, but as he walked away, four sharp-tipped steel wires shoot form his body and impaled each of their skulls. A quick death was the only mercy he could grant them.

(Koton: Jiyuu no Lamorak) - Steel Release: Liberty of Lamorak
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: 40
Description: The user will focus their koton chakra throughout their being before releasing it from one or numerous locations on their body in order to extend thin wires of steel outwards at the speed of a shot arrow. These wires are sharp-tipped and will dig into any solid surface (those devoid of chakra or follows basic elemental S/W). Once this happens, the user can seamlessly pull themselves towards that location or conversely pull the struck object/technique/being towards them if they possess the necessary physical strength to do so. This movement is usually accompanied by mid-air acrobatics. These wires can be extend to a maximum of fifteen meters away from the user's body. Alternatively, the user can instead focus their chakra into any structure of steel outside their body (the user's own technique or steel devoid of chakra) that is within mid-range of their position and extend these wire(s) from that structure/technique. For travel purposes, this technique can be used while on the ground or airborne though the latter is far more effective. When used while standing on the earth, the user will be pulled slightly off the ground as they're pulled in the direction they intend to travel in.
Note: Can only be used five times per battle

With the trespassers dealt with, Kōtetsu retracted the steel wires into his body and leaped into the air as he began to rotate his body at a ferocious speed. Once airborne arced around to face the earth, attacking the ground and drilling a deep hole into in. He ceased his rotation and climbed out of the hole, and once back on the surface he dumped the bodies into it a covered it up, giving the souls of the trespassers a place to rest where their vessels wouldn't be eaten by wild animals. After all, he couldn't risk further infection of the forest or the animals. Now he needed to meet with his clan and warn them of this calamity and used his mental link with Fūjin to tell the ninken where he was heading.

The dark had come. Not the true dark, but the dark which covers the Up when the Thunderer was angry, but still Fūjin pressed on. he was close now. Over the rugged green earth he raced, then up the slope and down again, to the grove where the scent of the wolves was coming form. The bad smell had gotten worse now, like how it was on his pack brother and on him. He knew instinctively that the badness in him could be passed on to others if he touched them, but it was too late for these wolves. He couldn't let them pass the badness onto the other animals in the forest. The ninken slowed to a trot before he began to sneak up on them. He was downwind, but since he was this close they would catch his scent soon. He would have to do this quickly. Fūjin leaped from the bushes, fangs bared and clasped his jaw around the neck of the closest wolf, which he snapped with a twist. The pack leader was the first to move and was already rushing towards the attacker, the other four close behind him. The ninken reared up on his hind legs and flicked his forepaw, deploying the blade hidden in his bracers, and brought them down. The first blade pierced the pack leader's skull, and the second pierced the neck of another.

Upon seeing this, the last two attempted the run, but they would be unable to escape the high breed. Fūjin would flick his forepaws once more, retracting the blades, and leapt towards the escaping wolves. While airborne he would rotate his body at ferocious speeds, drilling through the two before they could evade him. Upon ceasing the rotation, he would drag the bodies back towards the others, dig a deep hole with his powerful pards, and dump them within it. He also made sure to tear off anything that had been in contact with the blood of the wolves and dump it into the hole before filling it in. With his task complete, the ninken raced off the meet his partner.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:
- Help a large group of people to prevent the spread of infection (4)
- Diagnose a local populace (3)
Summary: With knowledge of the current epidemic, Kōtetsu returns to the Inuzuka clan in order to help prevent the spread of infection and diagnoses his clan members before heading off in search of a potential cure.

It had been months since they had set off to face a calamity that threatened the entire world, and even though much had happened since then, Kōtetsu and his pack had finally returned. The only problem was that a new calamity had arisen, and it was up to him to save his people. He had managed to rendezvous with Fūjin, who had taken care of the infected wolves, before reaching the deep forest where his clan resided, and together the two walked the rest of the way. Shiranui and Ryūjin, his other two ninken, defused from his body and strolled along with them, but since they were also infected the Inuzuka didn't allow them to stay out for long and even had Ryūjin merge back into his body. It took them half a day's walk to arrive at the hidden settlement, and as usual, nothing had changed. He stood on the outskirts, observing his clan members as they went about their daily lives with no clue that they were sick. He finally decided to go in.

"Make way!" His voice boomed through the area, causing the noise to drop and everyone to stare at him. When none of them moved, he repeated his command, this time with a softer, yet authoritarian, tone of voice as he glared over the crowd. The sea of men and women partied, mumbling as he went by them and toward the tent of the Council of Elders. They were the strongest and wisest in the clan, who focused solely on the protection of the forest and the wellbeing of their people. By right, Kōtetsu had the qualifications to become one of them, but he wasn't old enough, and his interest in the outside world meant he was unqualified for the position. Even still, he cared as fiercely for the forest and his people as they did, but he had realized that in order to protect them he couldn't afford the stagnating ideals of the three men he now stood before. Keeping his distance, The Inuzuka told them of the events that transpired in the Lighting Mountains, about how he had fought against the Goddess of Life and Creation as she attempted to corrupt every living being, about how her Sea of Life corrupted the ocean and any who came in contact with it, and about how she had been resealed into the void.

Finally, he told them of the virus, how everyone might have it, and almost everything else he'd learned from the trespassers. The one thing he neglected to tell them was the fact that the ones who fought The Mother were severely affected and could pass it on through physical contact. The elders were troubled, the color drained from their faces as they listened. For the Inuzuka clan strength was everything, but because of the scarcity of individuals who possed medical ninjutsu abilities, sickness was one of the things they feared the most. Thankfully for them, Kōtetsu was one of the few who possessed it, so there was weight behind his words, and they would follow his suggestions to the latter. He first suggested that they allow him to set up a temporary medical facility where he would look at each individual member of the clan to see who was infected and how back they were, and once that was done he would utilize his steel release ability to cordon off the settlement in order to prevent the infection from going out, and from severely infected animals from getting in. The considered this for a moment but ultimately agreed, giving Kōtetsu the freedom to do as he saw fit.

After their discussion had concluded, the elders called for all members of the clan to meet in the city center but made sure to order them all to keep a good distance from each other. once everyone had gathered they shared the information that they had been given. Murmurs erupted through the crowd as they learned of the virus, and some even distanced themselves even more just to be safe. While the elders informed the people about the current state of the world, Kōtetsu had found a secluded area on the outskirts of the settlement that would be the perfect place for his needs. Removing his red gloves and biting his thumb, he summons a small hut that was bigger than it appeared on the inside and burned the scroll with his blood on it. This is where he would diagnose the members of his clan, but before they could enter he had to make sure that the chance of them getting infected because of him was nonexistent. Since the laboratory was fully stocked to create medicines and antidotes, he had little trouble finding disinfectant and spare gloves. After disinfecting the room, the path he had taken towards he hut, and finally his hands he put on the new set of gloves. He was ready.

Inside is an advanced laboratory with everything needed to create antidotes and medicines.
Kōtetsu spent the next few days carefully examing his entire clan, which was quite a number of people. By making use of Shindan he probed the bodies of his kin by hovering his hands over them and injecting chakra into them via a tenketsu. While ensuring not to touch them directly, the injected chakra would circulate through their body before returning to him and passing on various information. Blood temperature, glucose levels, and even information about their antibodies, he learned it all. However, it wasn't the information he needed. After a few attempts of trial and error, his chakra returned to him with the information he needed. He could now accurately withdraw information regarding viruses and diseases in the bodies of his clansmen. After the first day, he managed to get the hang of it, which sped up the process tremendously so that he was only spending ten minutes to examine each person. His ability to smell chakra also helped him greatly, and he was soon able to identify the bad smell that the virus gave off that Fūjin had first brought to his attention. He didn't know what it meant then, but he knew now. Since he was infected worse than the others, the bad smell radiating from him was even worse, but thankfully his clansmen's senses weren't as sharp as his own.

It took an entire week of tireless work before he was done, but he finally managed to examine and diagnose everyone. As he feared, everyone in his clan had been affected, and the only silver lining seemed to be the fact that they were all asymptomatic. While this was a relief, he had no clue when that could change. He needed to find a cure for this thing, and fast. The only problem was that he didn't know where to look. Suddenly, his mind flashed back to the people he had met during the battle against the Goddess. To Vegeta of Tsumigakure, the short but powerful man who had given him a kunai, and the woman who dealt with poisons. He remembered how she had taken samples from one of the Children of Tiamat, probably thinking that it might be useful one day. If only she knew how much people her insight would now save. He needed to head to Tsumigakure, but before that, he had to set up the cordon to protect his clan and share what he had found with the elders. After disinfecting and resealing the laboratory to its scroll he met with the elders and shared his findings. They were shaken to discover that everyone had been infected, but they were asymptomatic was a sigh of relief for them.

The elders accompanied him to the outskirts of the settlement and watched as he went to work. The Inuzuka performed a single handseal and channeled his chakra into the ground to produce a ten-meter tall wall that surrounded the settlement, leaving only a five-meter wide gap that served as the only exit and entrance to the village. Along with the wall, he also produced a large steel building off to the right of the entrance, and while simple in design, it would serve a simple purpose. When he was done he turned to the elders and told them of his plan. Since the clan would continue to hunt down any trespassers in the forest, then anyone who came in contact with them would be moved into the steel building just in case they or their ninken contracts a severe case of this virus. This would ensure that they don't pass it on to other members of this clan. In addition, the same clan members who previously encountered trespassers should continue to deal with them in order to keep the number of people exposed to the virus low. Lastly, he made sure to remind them that if anyone showed signs of getting worse, then they too should move into the steel building.

"Thank you Kōtetsu, for doing so much for us." The old man's voice was calm, but he had a fire in his eyes that the Inuzuka has always respected. It's was thanks to him that Kōtetsu's suggestions were so readily accepted by the people. After all, he, Hawke, was the strongest of the three elders. "Just wait for me to return with the cure." His voice was optimistic, but he couldn't help but shudder at the thought of the daunting task that lay ahead of him. To travel to an unknown land in search of someone you've only met once in hopes that they'd help you with nothing to give in return. The odds were definitely stacked against him, but he had no choice. All he could do was hope that his kin would follow his instructions and minimize contact with each other in the meantime. And so, after merely eight days after returning to his clan, Kōtetsu once again set off.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:

- Deliver the cure to your clan (1) [Custom Clan Mission]

Summary: Kōtetsu returns to his clan with the cure in tow.

Coming From: Aridakumo (062)

It would soon be a year had passed since I had broken the isolationist views of the Zhouhua faction of the Inuzuka clan. In that time I had come to realize that the world had become a much different place than the one I’d left behind after the destruction of Freehold’s capital of Chungsu. I had fought against Tiamat, the Primordial Goddess of Life, and became a hero known throughout the world, only to be hunted like a criminal by the same people whose lives I'd helped save. I'd fallen ill with the Red Fever and gone to the Dark Tower in search of a cure, which I was unable to receive in the end.

I had learned of the Fallen Shogun Takauji Ashikaga, the Great Mother Cult, and Enkidu, the Chains of Heaven, through whom a cure for the Red Fever had been mass-produced. Through whispers, I'd also learned of Emiya Shirou, the child’s guardian, and returned to the Dark Tower to test my strength against Kulullu, the Beast of Sealing. Through that fight, however brief, I had come to realize the danger the Beasts of Tiamat, that were possibly scattered about my world, silently waiting and watching. They were a threat that I’d never perceived, but one that my clan and I needed to prepare for.

Much had changed within the clan as well. Though they still mainly remained within Zhouhua’s borders, some of the clan’s warriors had begun secretly venturing out to other areas. In addition to this, I had succeeded my father to become the leader of the clan, with the council of elders being left in charge whenever I ventured out.

As I made my way into the forest, I couldn't help but think back on how powerful Kulullu was, and wondered where the rest of her kin were and what exactly there were doing. I had briefly stopped again in Aridakumo to procure enough vials of the cure for my people and had sealed them within a sealing scroll stored safely within a pouch strapped to my leg. Immediately upon setting foot into the forest, I was immediately greeted by members of my clan. They had caught my scent and rushed to the southern border to meet me.

“Mobu, Shin, Moro, San...” I smiled as I approached. It was good to see familiar faces, especially theirs. “ I’m home.”

These four were my closest friends and the strongest warriors in the clan after me. They were effectively my lieutenants, with each being responsible for defending the north, east, west, and southern borders. Under each of them were four squad leaders, who each lead a team of three warriors. Not including the reserve warriors and the sanctuary guards, this meant that the main fighting force of the clan consisted of twenty people, who were responsible for constantly patrolling their respective areas of the border. In reality, that number had been reduced by more than half due to the Red Fever.

We would usually have embraced each other and press our temples together but I could smell the sickness emanating from their bodies. My smile faded, knowing that they were forced to perform their duties with their bodies in that state, but thankfully they no longer had to do so. he gave a command to the four. “Gather everyone at the usual place. I’ve brought enough of the cure for everyone.” Their faces lit up at the news and they vanished into the forest with their Ninken.

By the time I arrived at the gathering place everyone had already been gathered. The Council of Elders each sat before the rest of the clan members, and behind them, in the place of honor, was the empty throne that they had prepared for me, but as always I decided to ignore it, and instead stood between the elders and the rest of the clan as I removed a small scroll from his waist. Placing it on the floor, I unfurled it and caused a large number of vials that contained the cure to appear.

( Han'you Fūin ) - Generic Sealing Technique
Rank: B-Rank
Type: Supplementary , Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: This technique is a standard ninja skill which allows a ninja to summon an assortment of items or weapons that have been stored using Fūinjutsu, typically they are stored within scrolls. When needed, the owner will activate the seals releasing their item or weapon of choice. Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons. The items themselves are unaffected by time. This Technique allows the user to seal any weapons they wish being their own or opponents.
Note: Cannot seal opponent's custom weapons, or the special weapons of a particular character ( example: Samehada or Kubikiribocho ).
Note: Can only seal corpses, and not injured people regardless of the extent of their injury.
“This time I managed to get my hand on the cure,” I announced. “There’s more than enough for everyone here. Moro, you will take some of these and deliver them to the healing chamber for the ones too sick to move. Mobu, you’ll take whatever is left and store it in the vault in case we need them in the future.”

I stepped away from the mass of vials and watched as the cure was passed out, and observed as every man, woman, child, and Ninken ingested the cure. The effects were almost immediate. As soon as they drank the liquid from the vial the bad smells from their bodies faded. It was a miraculous sight for sure. Tonight, everyone in the clan would be cured, but there was still much work to be done. All of the animals within the forest needed to be healed, and since the only way to administer the cure was by ingesting it, then they would have to administer it to every single animal. We would have to try different methods of delivery such as raining it down from above or mixing it into the forest’s primary water source, but that was tomorrow’s problem.

It took roughly two hours for everyone to ingest the cure, and though they were in high spirits, all I could think about was finally resting. I raised my arm and brought it down slowly, causing the noise in the clearing to settle.

“There is a lot of work to be done. Tomorrow we’ll shift our focus to getting the forest and her animals healthy again, but tonight, we feast!”

A deafening roar could be heard throughout the forest as my people cheered in unison. They were a rowdy bunch, full of energy now that they were no longer sick, and soon I'd be putting that energy to good use.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:

- Make all the necessary plans and arrangements for your Clan (4)
- Rally your clan behind a single goal (4) [Custom Clan Mission]

Summary: With the forest healthy and once again full of life, Kōtetsu prepares his clan to face the looming threat.

Cured of its sickness, the forest was alive with the sound of its inhabitants for the first time in months. I'd grown used to the eerie quiet that had befallen it, but I would always prefer it this way, no matter how much the sound of the cicadas singing annoyed me. Standing up from the desk in my father's study, well my study now, I moved to close the window behind me to lessen the noise, but with my enhanced senses, it did little help. The past few days of arduously tending to the forest had drained me greatly, but no matter how tired I was, sleep managed to elude me.

“You're up early,” came a familiar voice from behind. “Or is it that you haven’t gotten around to sleeping yet?”

I turned to see my father entering the room. Naturally, I had already heard and smelt him approaching, but it was still good to actually see him. “The Latter I’m afraid. There is much to be done,” I replied as I walked over to him and placed my hand behind his head, and pressed my forehead against his. Likewise, Sýr placed a hand behind my head, but he lowered himself slightly as he did so.

It was in this way that the members of the clan not only greeted each other but told a story of where they have been and who they have met on their way. However, since I was now the head of the clan, my father, like everyone else, had to lower themselves as a sign of respect. It was still strange to me, seeing my father like this, but I had no choice but to get used to this. We removed our hands to release each other.

“She was quite something, that wom-...er...Fish-Woman you fought,” he marveled as he straightened his back and rose to his normal height. “I’d love to hear about that battle in detail later. For now, I’ve done as you requested.”

I moved back around the desk and cleared its surface, making room for the map of the Ninja World in my father's hand to be unfurled. He removed the bindings and opened it up before setting it down. I could see that a number of landmarks were highlighted, and attached to the highlighted sections were intricate detail that my father and his scouts had discovered while performing reconnaissance on the surrounding areas.

“From what we were able to gather, there doesn’t seem to be any fighting force in Xuanguan. It’s a peaceful place with idyllic villages, so there shouldn’t be much resistance. Quingshui is located to the south of that and the villages there are scattered. The only thing of note is the hilly terrain, but that won’t pose much of a problem with our mobility.”He paused briefly, rubbing his eyes before continuing. He had only recently been cured, and the lengthy recon mission had visibly drained him. I made a mental note to order him to rest after we were done here. “To the east of us lies Seoyeong, the most populated landmark thus far. We were able to observe a variety of shinobi clans in the area, and I can say for certain that they won’t submit to us without a fight. That leaves Gyerseong and Kokkyo. Gyerseong is heavily forested, and we were able to find some abandoned training facilities. There are also a few villages in the southern half of it, and there's an abandoned fort that looks useful. While exploring it we discovered some underground tunnels that connect it to another fort in Kokkyo.”

“And is that fort functional?” I asked, the gears turning in my head as I began to formulate a plan. “It’s been reduced mostly to rubble, but a number of the towers and small bits of the wall still stand,” replied Sýr with a hint of optimism. He was well aware of my skill with steel release and knew that I would find a way to restore it. “The tunnels that run from Gyerseong have mostly collapsed, but we were able to identify a few passages that were clear.”

I continued to stare intently at the map even after my father had finished speaking. The order in which our clan claimed these landmarks would be critical, especially since the large village to out east, Tanigakure, could notice our expansion and move to suppress us. We would have to be not only quick but keep the scale of the fighting relatively small. “Was there anything else?” I asked.

Sýr stroked his beard, the way he always did when there was something he had to say but wasn’t sure if he should. “Well….It’s about Seoyeong. There was an area in the forest that was like a maze. It was strange because no matter how many times we ventured in, we always ended up right back where we started.”

That was news to me. My father was an excellent tracker, and there was little chance of my clan members losing their way in a forest, especially with their enhanced senses. I would investigate it when I could, but for now, I had to make preparations for war. “I’ll look into that when I can, but for now, you should get some rest.” I ordered as I rolled up the map and leaned it up in a corner of the study.

“ And what about you?”

Walking over to my father, I placed my hands on his shoulder and turned him around before leading him out of the room. “I still have preparations to make,” I answered with a sheepish grin. Sýr chuckled and allowed himself to be pushed along, and goes off to rest after watching his son exit the building.

I had already decided where to attack first but I decided to speak with the rest of the elder council soon so I could hear their thoughts on the plans I had in mind. I was good at fighting himself, but leading a large force into battle was something I had no experience doing. It was leagues above commanding just my three ninken, and even that was sometimes difficult. Before the fighting even started though, I intended to make sure that my clanmates and their partners would be protected, and had developed an idea of how to go about it.

“Ryoken,” I called out, and a moment later the huge white wolf unmerged from my body and began trotting alongside me.

“What is it?”

“Gather everyone currently on patrol, the reserve warriors, and the sanctuary guards. Have them meet me in the piazza. It’s time for a thing.”

The ninken nodded and vanished into the canopy of trees. It took roughly half an hour for everyone to gather in the center of the forest, which the entire clan was built around. In the meantime, I consulted with the rest of the elders about which landmarks we would be invading first. After much deliberation, it was decided that we would begin the expansion of our territory with Seoyeong to the east, as the fighting there would be the most intense due to the various shinobi clans that populated it. There was also the area my father had expressed an interest in there as well. After that would be Gyersong to the northeast, where an already made fortification was already waiting for us.

For now, those two landmarks would belong to us, and only after completely bringing them under our control would we resume our expansion. Shortly after we had reached a consensus Ryoken returned to my side, as with him came the clan members he had gone to fetch. It wasn't long until the entire area was filled, and I could hear them murmuring and wondering what was the cause for the sudden summons. I raised his hand and waited as the crowd fell silent.

“I know that you’re all wondering why you’re here, so I’ll get straight to the point,” I began. “In the past few months, I’ve ventured repeatedly to familiarize myself with the outside world and mingle with the humans. I assisted them in the fight against the Primordial Goddess, not because I wanted to help them, but because her existence threatened man and beast alike. I became a hero who was now throughout the world. They sang my praises and thanked me for helping to save the world.

The crowd broke out into cheers, and I could see a slight flicker of hope in the eyes of his clansmen. The hope that maybe humans had changed in all the years that the Inuzuka had decided to isolate themselves in the forest. It pained me to have to betray their expectations. I once again raised my hands and the noise died down.

“Unfortunately, this did not last. A bounty was placed on those who fought the Goddess, and we immediately went from heroes to fugitives in the course of a single night. They accused us of being the cause of the red fever, and humanity turned on us. At the same time, the mysterious organization that placed the bounty held a tournament with a cure to the disease as a prize. I fought to claim it but failed. There was one human who managed to make it to the end, but he chose to receive personal spoils for his own development than to save his race.”

I briefly recalled the dread I'd felt when Jonathan, the human who had bested him, chose a sage level weapon and other material prizes instead of the cure.

“I had hope for better, but it’s obvious that these humans can’t be trusted. They live only for their own self-interest and personal gain. They have forgotten that it’s the forest, and nature, that has allowed for their existence. To the east, a village encroaches on our land, and a large nation exists to the west. There is also the fact that monsters the likes of which we’ve never seen will soon be let loose and wreak havoc on our world. We can no longer simply observe, nor can we be content by isolating ourselves. We need to be proactive, and carve out a path to survive with our own strength!”

I passionately threw my fist into the air. My people, who were proud of my accomplishments, angry at the way the humans had treated me, and whose belief in strength above all else, were riled up by my speech. Their cheers reverberated through the forest. The very thought of getting the chance to test themselves against the people of the outside world excited them beyond belief. They were all united behind me and my cause.

“But before we begin this endeavor,” I shouted over the deafening noise, “I intend to increase our chances of survival. The elders will share with you our plans for expansion, and while they do that you'll all have your measurements taken so that armor and weapons of steel can be made for you.”

I looked to my left and nodded, signaling a few of the sanctuary guards to move organized the crowd in a way that made it easier for them to measure both the people and ninken. As they moved Holo, one of the three elders and the only female of the group, rose to her feet and because sharing the order in which the landmarks to our east would be the first to be claimed. She made use of the reports from the scouts about the terrain and features of both lands, ensuring that the warriors would know how to maneuver through them.

After taking the measurements for a certain number of people, one of the sanctuary guards brought the information to me. I looked over it carefully before setting it aside and channeled my steel chakra into the earth before making a single handseal, which caused a large quantity of armor and various weapons, ranging from bows and arrows to swords and spears, to be produced from the ground.

(Kyosei Kōton no Jutsu) - Greater Steel Release Technique
Rank: A
Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: A bigger version of Basic Steel Release where the user will do one hand seal (Bird) and produce medium to large sized objects, pillars, weapons, etc, made of black steel, from their body or from the earth.

The group they were made for was called up to receive them and left the gathering place. This process repeated itself a number of times well into the night until every last ninken and Inuzuka was fitted with armor and provided weapons to wield in battle. I now possessed a properly outfitted army, but I still prayed to the forest spirits for their protection in the battles to come.

This post marks the beginning of my mission using these storyboard elements:

- Answer the call (1)

Summary: Alerted by the tremors originating from the east, Kōtetsu leaves his clan to see to their preparations for the upcoming territory expansion as he goes to investigate the source of the disturbance.

I could hear the screams of people dying all around me as Chungsu burned, the fire illuminating the night sky as if the sun had not yet set. Dazed and battered, I forced myself to keep walking, to escape the smell of death and burning flesh that clung to my nose. Most of all, I wanted the screaming to stop, so much that I couldn’t help but claw at my ears. I was aware that I was dreaming, that this was the same old nightmare that came to ever so often, one that I couldn’t wake up from. I had already tried.

As the younger version of myself fled the city, the earth began to shake violently as the Kyūbi rampaged. Even after I had moved away from the capital I could still feel the tremors, and that when I realized something was strange. These tremors should have stopped by now.

“Wa….up...” I heard a voice call from the shadows. I couldn’t hear it clearly. “W..KE...P.. ” It came again, louder this time.

The tremors were getting more intense, and that’s when I realized. These tremors weren’t from my dream, they were actually real. “WAKE UP!” The telepathically transmitted voice penetrated my subconscious and came across loud and clear. It was Sif.

My eyes popped open. It was still dark, but I could feel that the entire forest was shaking. I did my best to get dressed without tripping over myself as the three ninken in the room with me scurried about. Once done, I reached my arm towards them to have Sif and Sirris fuse into my body, and with the other grasped Final Shape, the calcified essence of Kulullu that had been fashioned into a necklace, and placed it over my neck. I made for the door with Siris following behind as the commotion from the gathering clan members began to get louder, grabbing Caladbolg and clasping it across my back as I exited the building.

“It’s from the east! ” Shin called as he pushed his way through the crowd towards me, prompting me to look in that direction. It was the same direction I had sensed danger from when the primordial Goddess was unleashed upon the world. It seemed that each time a catastrophe had befallen us, it always came from the east. I was seriously beginning to believe that the place was bad luck.

“I wonder what it is this time?” San asked to no one in particular.

“Nothing good,” I answered as I walked to the front of the pack. Turning to face them, I noticed that the elders were the ones at the front, while my lieutenants stood behind them. They all wore a concerned look, and I could already tell that they knew I would go to investigate the origins of the tremors. “I know what you all wish to say, but you already know you can’t stop me. As always, the elders will be in charge. While I’m gone I need you all to continue training with the steel weapons and getting used to the armor. We will begin expanding our borders upon my return.”

The Inuzuka clansmen sighed. They had long since grown used to the whims of their king, but they knew that he only took action to ensure their survival, as so could do nothing but wish him well on his journey. In unison, the entire clan lowered themselves before their leader and shouted “Må ulveguden lede din vej!”. It was a blessing bestowed upon others before they began long journeys or battle.

A slight smile escaped me upon hearing their words. I nodded towards them and then turned to the east. I stretched my arm out to touch Siris’ side and fused into his body. The sparkling white ninken took off into the forest and vanished from sight.

Techniques used:
Fenriru No Gimuzuke | Fenrir's Lesser Oblige
Rank: S
Type: Supplementary/Offensive/Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 40 ( -15 per turn )
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This technique was designed to rectify the weaknesses of managing multiple bodies within Battle. Many Inuzuka found that their Ninkens became easy targets for area of effect Ninjutsu techniques, and often experienced problems with defending from widespread attacks without compromising their Ninkens health or position. As such this technique was developed as a fix for these flaws. This technique allows an Inuzuka to enter into a lasting fusion with their Ninken(s). While fused the Ninken will inhabit the users body and the user will gain the ability to use techniques that require 'Four Legged Beast' transformation as a perquisite and will also gain the senses of their Ninken. The Ninken(s) will be aware of the world through the users senses however their mind and chakra systems will remain separate. The Inuzuka however will still be capable of tapping into their Ninken's chakra supply, and will be capable of using it to bolster their own supply for future techniques. Lastly, fused Ninken can demerge from their host body at any point in time, and can also choose to re-emerge without cost. Merging and de-merging however is not instant, instead it simply functions as a Ninken or Inuzuka walking outside of the hosts body - and as such is far inferior to the merging abilities of Souma No Kou. One added benefit is that a host can have appendages such as tails or wolf ears that can prove useful in combat, but are largely cosmetic, the main host can also be switched at will - housing the user and other Ninken(s) within a Ninken's body instead.

Note:
- Must be posted at either the start of the battle or in the users bio, and is active at all times. (In the case of the users bio, the user will be incapable of using more than two techniques on their first post in a battle or event, and will suffer the respective chakra cost too)
- In the case of deactivation (On the users account or as a result of an enemy technique) this technique can be reactivated again at the cost of the move. Each reactivation will require more chakra than the last, doubling each time.
- This technique serves as the ultimate baseline form for Inuzuka's. After using another transformation the user is capable of reverting back to this form without completely cancelling the previous transformation, instead they retain the physiological benefits of the other transformation (Such as increased sensing and other abilities) and are also capable of re-entering the previously activated transformation without cost as it is still considered active. (Does not distort or ignore turn restrictions)
- For the purpose of this technique, normal Ninkens will each have a supply of 200 chakra that the user is capable of accessing.
Haiburīdo | The High Breed (Reference)
Type: Supplementary
Rank: N/A
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After decades of research and selective breeding, the High Breed was born. The High Breed was bred to be genetically superior to all other Ninkens immediately displayed talents that completely overshadowed that of lesser breeds from a young age. High Breeds are born with a more robust constitution, resulting in them being larger, stronger and have a base speed of 13, faster than most other breeds as well as having a passive 20 damage increase to their techniques. They also look far more wolf-like as a result of their wolf-rich bloodline. High Breeds display savage intellect, and are capable of exercising great cunning and problem-solving abilities; and as a result of their advanced intellect, they have gained the ability of articulation. Other talents include a healing factor allowing them to heal just as well as Sage Mode's passive healing per turn, heightened smell based senses on par with 3T and extends up to 1 landmark away. However High Breed's have been known to reject their Inuzuka counterparts, entering into a faux relationship for a time, and then turning on their paired Inuzuka the moment they have grown large enough to kill their ill-suited partners. As a result, the High Breed was kept secret and many voted for their extermination, but in the end, they were merely banished into the woods of Konohagakure, kept alive in case the clan should have a need for them in the future. However, should a High Breed fully accept an Inuzuka a most curious phenomenon will occur in which both the High Breed and Inuzuka will become mentally linked, capable of sharing thoughts, feelings, and experiences with each other, with such a deeply intimate bond being the absolute apex of an Inuzuka and Ninken bond. (A high breed cannot use Ninjutsu or elemental Taijutsu (Aside from Inuzuka techniques of course) by default).

Note:
- Must either be posted in the user's bio (Along with an explanation of how they met a High Breed and a description of their High Breed) or posted at the start of a battle. (In which case their High Breed by default will simply look like a wolf that, for it's age, is up to twice larger than any known Ninken.)

( Ryōshi Ninken ) - Hunter Ninja Dog (Reference)
Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary
Rank: D - S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: N/A
Damage: N/A
Description: The user's Ninken are among the Hunter breed of dogs, a breed available to every Inuzuka. These dogs are capable of using all of the Inuzuka canon techniques but with added effects as well as unique abilities exclusive to the main breed, unable to be obtained by custom breeds. Commonly used as the hunter dogs, these dogs are more suited to battle than their canon counterparts and as such have a neutrality to energy based attacks and a stream Gen to all matter based attacks. In addition to this, they are capable of dealing 20 damage via freeform attacks, though this cannot go over 80 damage inflicted a turn as well as a standard 20 additional damage to their Ninken techniques. These ninken move at a speed equivalent to that of a Sage ranked Increased Speed Specialist and have a tracking level of x2 as well as smell up to 2 landmarks away. However, this is unique to the Hunter Breed of dogs.
Note: Must be a member of the Inuzuka Clan.
Note: This is a passive technique, meant to describe the Ninken, and does not entail a sort of manipulation.

He approached the man and introduced himself. Hello!

The conversation with the witch woman some time ago was still fresh in my mind. Her reasoning was pointless and contradicting, but her words still bothered me. The period of upheaval the world was currently experiencing made me feel out of my depth. All I wanted was to protect my clan and our territory but to achieve that I would have to fight forces whose power eclipsed my own. As I wrestled with my thoughts, I picked a new scent before I could enter the heart of the forest where the Inuzuka clan dwelled. Stopping where I stood, I turned to face the extravagantly dressed, blue-haired man.

“That's far enough,” I warned as he approached. “This forest is off-limits to you and your kind.”

Usually, trespassers in Zhouhua would be dealt with quickly and effectively, but this was a mentality of the clan that I was slowly trying to change. It didn't serve us well to make enemies everywhere, but I still wasn't ready to allow outsiders into our home.

It seemed like the man didn't want Susabi to come any closer. Respecting his wishes, Susabi stopped in place. Not progressing further towards the man.

Sorry to intrude, but as a protector I thought I should warn you. The more people aware of the situation at hand the better and more prepared we will be as a people. Apparently... The Hyuga folded his arms. We are or will be under attack from beings.. "Gods" as an associate of mine called them.

Susabi looked right at the man, giving him a piercing glare but one filled with urgency not malice.
I know this may be hard to believe or swallow. But with the way how things are going, it doesn't seem to far fetched now.
