and at the very beginning of shippuuden when naruto-and garaa arc tobi used a tech to.....ummm change some other peoples bodies into itachi and kisame.
after they defeated them and went on kakashi notices that their traces have disappeared, in other words zetsu ate them up.

I wonder, since Zetsu is like the earth itself if, when he "eats" a body, he somehow speeds up decomposition so he ends up recycling the person's energy and matter

Its mean you ate your own species so if a human eats a human or say zetsu eats zetsu. Zetsu as far as it looks is not a human so technically he isnt a cannibal because he is a mutated human thus not the same species

lol, just thought of that, and then I read your post. yeah, Zetsu isn't a canable, but he does eat humans...

He in theory feeds on people. And if he as a humanoid, or human, and feeds on other humans this practice would make him a canibal. Although I do beleive both parts of Zetsu have to be together for them/it/him to feed.
Edit: Canibalism isnt just humans eating humans, its also used to describe same species predation (it happens in nature quite often).

It cant be gay if it has no specific gender. Like a snails or worms, and nematoads are hermaphroditic. (inserts another comment here from the peanut gallery laughs and moves on).
