He is sort of how Sage's sucessors individually represented in manga as a combination.

Either Kishimoto changed his mind, or Zetsu was supposed to be a Hyuga

Madara made zetzu from the creation jutsu whille he was attatched to the statue and put part of his will into him been stated quite a few times in the manga

As soon as chapter 604-606 happened, I immediately knew it was a telepathic ability.

Some guy in naruto forum posted the same thing, and some guy thought it was some telepathy kind of deal.

I did a thorough research on Zetsu, I know what he is capable of.
