ZETSU Fail

Is anyone out there who thinks in the same way as I do ?

The first time I saw Zetsu I thought this guy is going to be some serious problem in the end but despite the fact that he was in a way a problem in the war. It wasn't really how I thought he would be.
I mean Kishi could have made a way different character out of Zetsu as he is now.
On his example we can see that Kishi is really writing every chapter without thinking into the future. In my opinion he messed up Zetsu. From a kind of scary being into a slimy goo. It's a shame, Zetsu could be a real Badass.

Though I still agree with the OP. I figured Zetsu was the top tier when it came to stealth, which, in a way, he is. But I figured he was just a singular being that was ultimately going to be some badass Akatsuki member stronger than all the others. Turns out he is just one of some 100,000 degenerate Hashirama clones with a fixation on poo. At least black zetsu showed some promise when it was revealed he was Madara's dark will.

Turns out not so much either. Not without being attached to someone at least.

Even if Zetsu is a spy...Kabuto, Sasori(I think), and Itachi were all spies too.
They just turned out not to be pathetically weak as zetsu.

They say that all of the akatsuki are S-rank shinobi's, yet zetsu over here is making it seem that there is a rank just blow Genin.

are you talking about Zetsu or someone else? This sounds more like Maddy. Zetsu has just been getting trashed by the shinobi alliance. Now spiral Zetsu on the other hand....

Black Zetsu kept a little bit of the mysteriousness with his voice but still both are laughable compared to the others. He just could have be so damn strong instead of Yamato he should be the one able to use mokouton and maybe even a different kekkei genkai which is based on poison or plants something like that

Zetsu was the most mysterious of the Akatsuki and remained a mystery the longest.

I was very excited about him, he seemed like an alien-plant-man with split personalities and I wanted to know more about what bizarre story and abilities he could have. It seemed weird that the white side was child-like while the black side was mature and intelligent. It also seemed weird that the black on him seemed to be a kind of cloth or something bolted to his body, which extended down into pants and shoes exposing white toes.

Instead, he turns out to be a deformed clone of Hashirama which simply served as an army of fodder, and the black side is nothing more than a physical manifestation of Madara's will controlling a Zetsu... and why did it even merge to another Zetsu clone, anyway?

So much potential, so many possibilities, yet incredibly disappointing.

Hopefully Guruguru will save grace.
