So, this chapter revealed that those trapped in genjutsu will turn Zetsu themselves. The ultimate soldier, though Obito said white Zetsu wasn't a the combat type.

Furthermore, this explains why Edo Hokage weren't effected because they already have Zetsu bodies. They're bodies won't be able to transform into something they already are. At least that's the idea.

I question remains though, how was Orochimaru caught? He has Zetsu body, just like Edo Hokage.

Well it only seems logical it didnt affect the dead but it affected orochimaru.....

We actually havent seen if oro was caught in the tree roots. He may have just been affected by the genjutsu.

The reason the edo hokages were not affected, is because they are dead. They have no living body to be transformed into zetsus.

Edo have been caught on genjutsu, Itachi was.

Edo use living bodies as their vessel. The body dies when the Edo is either sealed or defeated. We witnessed this after Orochimaru part 1 were defeated, they showed the bodies of sound ninja.

Orochimaru body has no real significant difference, though he is "alive"

I think that's a good possibility. Because Zetsu bodies were used as a sacrifice for the Hokages. Seems right.

But orochmaru doesn't have a zetsu body though, he came out of Anko, and if anything, he just has senju enhanced DNA, not zetsu. Care to show a scan of him taking over a zetsu.

Sorry I find it hard to remember a 2 panel detail from over 2 years ago. Did find it though. Secondly, maybe it is because Orochimaru has completely morphed it. Either that or your theory is garbage. Either way, it sure is fun to be an *******.

Sorry either your theory is flawed, or Orochimaru has manipulated to longer be a zetsu. No way around that.
