Zeref is, in my opinion, a jewel of a villain. His struggle for all his unwilling sins, and his struggle for an impossible death, along to the bond with his younger brother make a distinguished answer for all who say Fairy Tail has a very simple plot with more than simple characters

Fairy tail is a simple story that holds no heavy themes nor complex plot, the story style itself is pretty common in manga, Not to mention the shitty ass way of which the author handles conflicts. Zeref as a character is decent I give you that, much better than the majority of the characters in the story but he's only great in comparison to those in that manga.

The very reason for zeref's character standing out that well, is because of the contradictory curse, it makes up most of he is and represents.

True, but I don't think that conflicts are badly handled by the author, it's a shonen, afterall. Anyway no, Zeref is a villain that would be respectable in any kind of story to me, both in a manga or a comic

Tell me nothing XD

Wtf did I do with the quotes LOL

eh, I disagree, but I respect you opinion. At least it's zeref that you are arguing.

As far as Shonen villains go I will give it to zeref at least his reasons for becoming who he did was for love. The love of his brother. It's too bad he is starting to go down that "destroy the world" road so many villains do. I kind of like not knowing what his true motives were.
