During an interview with Nintendo life, Zelda producer, Eiji Aonuma reveals some details on plans for the new Zelda game that will be appearing on the WiiU aswell as plans for DLC in future Zelda games.
The next Zelda game was described to be something completely new that you can’t see anywhere else however when pressed on whether they were going for a completely realistic look or a cartoony realistic look he said
“It has to be something you can’t see anywhere else. We wouldn’t want it to be ultra-realistic because you can see that elsewhere. But I can’t say that it’s going to be cartoony-realistic like you mentioned, the fantastic presentation that we’ve already done in the past. It will be something new.”
Also when DLC was brought up and whether there were any plans for it in the future Zelda games he simply replied:
We’re certainly looking at different ways to add on content that would enhance the experience for the user – maybe more places to explore or just to enrich the experience beyond what is on the disc. But we also have to take into consideration that if we charge for this content then it needs to be worth it for the user.
So there you have it, the new Zelda game which wasn’t even talked about at E3 by Nintendo because they did not want it to pull attention away from other games, will have a never before seen art style as well as the potential of DLC.
