[Question] Zangetsu

So I'm rather confused at the moment.
I just reached chapter 540 were the zero division guy is getting Ichigo another zanpaktou

Can soembody explain whats the deal with zangetsu and the quincy guy?
cause I don't understand

simply enough oldman "zangetsu" is the visual representation of his quincy blood which he got from his mother hence why it looks like the leader of the quincy. when ichigo first became a shinigami he tried to stop his advance fearing for his saftey but eventually began to help him by letting the suppressed zanpaktou/hollow spirit inside him out to train/teach him things.

later you will note that ichigo now has two blades one represents the quincy (the small one) and the other his shini/hollow power (big one)
