In the hands of kakashi it doubles as the kiba(fangs), since he ran his chakra through it. Depending on who is using it is is either strong (kakashi/zabuza) or weak (suigetsu)

 it's still just a regular giant sword with almost no additional benefit

Why did kakashi have to drop it?

I was entertained by his character through most of the war because of that sword

Like i said it depends on who is using it. Besides, it was made to cut off heads. no other known sword can do that without elemental/additional chakra flow.

No other known swords can cut of a head without using chakra? A regular steel blade is enough to lop off a human head.

A kitchen knife can decapitate heads! :whip:

In this anime/manga no

They're still human.....steel will cut them unless they have some sort of special ability

If that weren't the case, then they wouldn't bother dodging and blocking kunai

Who dodges kunai these days?lol. On the serious note samurai swords can cut off heads but as seen in this manga the samurai run their chakra though their blades to make them stronger(most likely due to the fact that the sword would break on samurai armour). While zabuza's sword doesn't need this and most likely will still send the head flying.

@Lightbringer It also depends on the type of cut whether it be a straight cut(chop) that takes advantage of the weight of and momentum of the blade to push through or a draw cut(slice) that takes advantage of the sharpness of the blade and is dragged across the target.

They run chakra through their blade in order to combat ninjutsu, that doesn't mean they can't cut through a head without it....that wouldn't make sense

especially since Zabuza's blade is made from iron and not from steel, and you're claiming that it's the only blade without chakra that can decapitate

Itachi's kunai without the use of chakra took off Orochimaru's arm....if only a kunai could do that, then swords can most definitely cut off heads.

what about the Hiramekarei? I'm sure it can easily cleave heads off without the need of chakra as well.

the Kabutowari has no chakra flowing through it, and it will surely decapitate heads easily.

Like i said earlier it depends on the users skill and the type of cut.

Well pretty much every shinobi that's not a fodder is just as skilled or more so than Zabuza, so I'm sure they can manage to cut off someone's head with a regular katana.

Tobirama for instance used a katana, and I'm sure he would have no trouble achieving it.

Not every shinobi is skilled in wielding a katana and to cut off a head with a katana you need a proper stance and the right positioning. Were getting off topic here.

I think the real question here is why do you know so much about decapitation

I watched a lot of deadliest warrior. When it comes to ballistic head/necks very few weapons made it through on the first cut.Sure it might be denser due to it being ballistic but its as close as can get.

sasuke cut off a zetsu head without proper stance and one-handed without the use of his lightning chakra

zetsu have also been shown to be quite durable, more so than a regular human being.

While haramkire and the Blastsword are epic:

You know that it relies on the skill. Zabuza didn't need any external uses, and it's better for long term fights.

Though chakra flow makes the later good, and the blast sword could.be replicated.
