It's his capacity of fighting in circumstances that other shinobis would have died already.
I believe this is the main reason why Zabuza should be more respected in VS threads, since not all 1 shot ko techniques will work on him, since he prooved he is very proficiend and dangerous with just a kunai in his mouth.
