Only summoning jutsu made kakashi win against zabuza however zabuza will not be idiot to be caught again by his dogs.

Zabuza intelligence is high in data book and his ability score 30.5/40 which is so high and almost close to other jounin like kakashi and gai.

Without naruto help , kakashi will not live to see gai's 8th gates because he will be dead by zabuza hand in chapter 16

1st fight:
Zabuza trapped him and could kill him but naruto saved kakashi.

2nd fight:
After haku sacrificed himself , zabuza could slash haku and kakashi and win the fight but he lost because he was hurt to see haku dead and kakashi admitted that.

Edo fight:
He was controlled and not at his full power same as nagato's case who lost in 1shot against itachi.


Finally zabuza level is almost close to kakashi's level while I can't deny kakashi is stronger only because of free sharinghan.

Zabuza has lots of water jutsu and very skilled in taijutsu and kenjutsu since he's member from strongest generation of swordsmen.

Currently kakashi part2 beat zabuza and I can't deny that but it will not be easy as your thought and stop under rating zabuza and go review manga.
